We made it home!
The total drive was a touch under 1800 miles for the trip to NH and back plus the rally route. Having it be somewhat "local" and a looping route was nice.

A few pics from the trip-
The lock wall in Portsmouth NH got a decorated padlock.

We picked up some fancy New England delicacies.

Somewhere by a river

On a boat!

Somewhere on a side road around Mt Washington

One of my favorite pics. Its a cable bridge in Maine.

Some art just "speaks" to people!

We got to do a parade lap at NHMS

Cool trip. Cable bridge is rad. Fun to see a GRMer in my neck of the woods.

That bridge is a trip. The wiggling takes a little getting used to.
Tonight we updated the scratch map with all the post-Rally states. Thats a lot of air aucked through the 1 barrel!

I've said it before and I'll say it 50 more times.
I love this van! This is just the coolest. Hope you make it to Illinois someday!

I've tried to convince my wife that we "need" this van for road trips with the 4 dogs... but no luck yet!

Its a goal without a plan to get this van to all of the lower 48. Technically it has parts that have visited Illinois and California but I dont think that counts!

That van is awesome!
Well... you know what they say about asking forgiveness rather than permission!

Danica Catrick’s expressions in those pics are priceless BTW.
So... Im a nerd that likes designing stickers. The place I order them from is running a promotion for purple and black so I tweaked my design from the Texas Rally and ordered some up to hand out to anyone that says "cool van".

I like it. Purple and black, just in time for Halloween.
I love that plan! I should have done that back when I was driving my 48 Cab Over as my DD.
...Cool van,

I will get some heading your way. I know you need to have the full set!

Super Cool Van !
First batch of stickers went out in the mail today.
Awhile ago I read about adding a Steering stabilizer on a newer Econoline. You can get the brackets off a Ambulance or chassis cab. I was in the junkyard today and snagged a set. They had a bunch of fleet vans with them. At first glance it looks like it will be a pretty easy retrofit on my 3rd generation van. I wont get around to it for awhile, but here are the glamorous brackets!

Beauty shot of the van post junkyard. This will likely be its last trip for awhile. I will be starting some of the winter projects on it soon.

What did you settle on for power/transmission upgrades?
I assume that's part of the winter time projects.
In reply to Indy "Nub" Guy :
You know, I am still not 100% decided. I keep going back and forth between "keep it original", "Ford V8 of some sort", and "LS SWAP ALL THE THINGS!!". I have the 5.3 on a stand. I have a friend thats pushing a 351 swap.
Currently I am following the "It aint broke, dont mess with it" philosophy.
This winter I will be fixing the rust, and finishing the interior. If I have time and budget left I want to swap rear gears to a 3.20 or 3.50 because that will help drivability and I think it needs done no matter what.

Powernation is starting a build with a 300. Theyve done two episodes on youtube so far. I'd urge you to check them out to see what some basic mods can achieve.
