We're using a silicon based adhesive for the aluminum. The frame is powder coated, and to my knowledge the adhesive doesn't work chemically with either.

All of the product my company produces is powder coated. Silicon doesn't adhere to it well over time.

Does this product have a name and is it recommended by FFR? Or is it just black/gray silicone tub caulk?

Also what pop rivets are being used? Some kind of cherry rivet or an industrial type? All aluminum or stainless steel shank or all stainless?

A Riveted panel tech article would be sweet with some info on various rivet qualities, adhesives for different substraits and proper rivet techniques would be nice.

I'll get more information and get back to you on that. Factory Five supplied everything, and we just used it.

Okay, an update on the glue:

It's GE SCS1000 silicone, which can be bought at any good paint store. GE silicone II from Lowes or Home Depot would also work.

The rivets are nothing special, just your average run-of-the-mill pop rivets.

That is the shifter on Wayne's 818 that he is building. It is an aftermarket piece he found at PRI last year and had to have it. Perhaps Tom can chime in on specifics, or i'd be happy to contact him and find out for you.

If Tim's 818 is chassis #1, how is it that Wayne's is so much farther along?

Wayne has actually been helping the team at Factory Five develop the kit, so he got an early chassis to experiment with.
