First car I ever restored was a VW Karmann Ghia...
Never, ever again.
That being said, if you're cutting away everything from the doorsills down, you're solving most of the problems.
The way that car holds water, the job may be mostly done for you by now.

If anyone knows of any reason that these two should not be joined, post now, or forever snicker behind the scenes.
Shhh... let's leave them alone and see what happens...
this gonna be good
Process is moving forward on the VW
Ownership paperwork is being updated. Expecting detailed pics of the problem areas so we can do a final go / no go for a run to Atlanta in the AM.
Just heard from seller. All looks good for tomorrow.
Documents are complete.
Learned today that the VW’s name is GiGi.
She was born 2/16/1971.
How the hell did I miss this this? Subscribed!
@ a_florida_man: Was the Merc photo taken on US98? Looks familiar kinda.

Yep, south of the barge canal. West side of the road.

I see what you did there. It will be great to see what you do.
Having a great day.
Met a very cool family.
Got a cool box of small parts.
Made it out of Atlanta in one piece.
Details to follow... still have to drive home.
This is more of an arranged marriage than it is a drug and booze fueled post coital event.
I cant wait to see what happens when the bride and groom meet for the first time. By the way, who is the bride and who is the groom in this relationship?
Pete
I've always loved Karmann Ghias. Did you get any engine/trans with it? I might be willing to help in your budget recovery.
