Turbo 240z (with some 280zx on the side)

Finally decided to do a build thread for my project car and dd.

The plan with the 240 is to swap in an l28 turbo from a 280zx that a member of the oklahoma Z club dinated to me along with the transmission. I have been collecting the parts needed for the rear end swap to an R200 and am just about ready to tackle that project.

I dont have a picture but it has finally been about 90% removed by now.

We ended up removing the carbs so I could sell them to fund the rest of the build. Luckily it had a blwon headgasket so it was easy enough. [URL=http://s1089.photobucket.com/user/MrValentine1383/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140928_152008_zpsrssai4ya.jpg.html][/URL]

And thats what has happened with my build in the past 3 months. Dont really have the time to work on it much between working on my daily 280zx and school but I still manage. The work thats been done on the daily so far: New shocks Brake pads New gas tank and I am waiting on seat brackets to install my new seats and harnesses.

Hopefully Ill be better about documenting the build as it progresses.

Slight update: Ended up buying a 1965 bug to flip so this project will benon hold for a bit. Expect a build thread for the beetle

Did that speaker box just have one enormous comedy-sized speaker in it before?

Speaker box had 2 18" woofers in it. Must have been ridiculous in such a small car.

Small update: picking up the engine sometime this week. Super stoked to finally have it at the shop.

Finally got the heart of this project. Its a little rough but it was free so who cares.

Free and works is better than costs and doesn't work any day.

Im also looking for a t3/t4 hybrid turbo. Anyone know of a good, cheap brand?

No updates on the 240 But I did finally make and install a harness bar for my Zx. Love having the harness. It looks good and seems to hold me in the seat pretty well.

Im ready for track day now!

Update again: Going to split this into two builds. The Zx will be getting turbo power soon. The 240 will be getting an rb30.
