Does anyone think that I might be able to change the color of my car's vinyl convertible top using  DUPLI-COLOR vinyl and fabric spray?

I've seen black top die gel for sale everywhere with an equal number of You Tube videos, but I'd like to change the color to tan. No doubt take a good number of cans, but might it be possible? I've had good luck with this product (and others like it) on seats and door panels, never a  convertible top though.

Just wondering . . .

Thanks !

Is there a spot you can test and see how it looks after a few months?

Kinda thinking that your suggestion might be the way to go. Just a test spot and see how it looks come Spring.

Speaking from a Miata perspective and no Mustang experience...  In a Miata, much of closing the top is about stretching the fabric.  I'd imagine this stretching to be very hard on a "painted" surface.  I'm skeptical of how well this will work.  I envision a tan top with lots of cracking black showing through.
