Some refer to the front turn signals on a Europa as "warts", early cars didn't have them,
some people shave them.....should they stay or go?

No warts, though I'm a bit biased....
One thing to note, the photo in the first post shows the difference in headlamp heights between the early cars and later the later bodyshells.

i know I've seen LED replacements for the 7 inch sealed beams that include turn signals underneath
I knew exactly what you meant when I saw the thread title, and instantly knew the answer. No warts. I put a small 3/4" grommet LED on mine, just above the bumper line. They also make 7" headlight bulbs with signals built in for a more modern look.

This is exactly what I will be doing to the warts on my 914 for side markers.
OP do what he did.
I don't mind the warts but think Europas look better without them.
I kinda like how Foose relocated them to the underside of the nose
Someone had started the job for me many years ago, so I just popped a couple of LED "trailer marker lights" into the body. Amazon link If you search around you can find some with a chrome bezel like mine.
