Did I see elsewhere that you're bringing Mongo to the Mitty?

EDIT: Matt & I must have been typing at the same time.

Mongo will be at the Mitty, that's a done deal. All are welcome to congregate around us.

On the trip to Sebring, and remember there is no fuel gauge so I could only estimate, I found Mongo to get around 9mpg and we were towing.

Excellent - you planning on being around turn 3 again? We'll be getting there Friday morning to set up.

Found one hell of a chore, sanding about 8 layers of really old paint off a stainless 35 x 8 roof. BTW stainless primer is amazing, nothing removes it, but good stripper will dissolve it, just have to wipe it off quickly or it will harden again.

Air lines and valve all sorted and working fine. Rear hub parts ordered.

Trailer rewired and new LED lights. Also welded up various holes in the deck and sides.

Not if it is converted to a RV, which it is. Gets around the CDL stuff that way.

Btw, if you're on Facebook, do a search for The Creative Cruiser. It may be of interest to you.

Edit: found the site link. Not "GRM budget" in the least (apparently being a Photoshop guru pays well), but may be useful for some ideas: http://digitalmastery.com/creativecruiser/

The usual last minute thrash to get ready for a trip.

This week, changed both fuel filters, of course then one housing starts to leak so we have to pull it off again and braze the housing then reinstall.

Fixed the leaking hub, replaced 3 studs, all the cone nuts, split washers and 5 lug nuts. Made a new gasket and it was good to go.

Found a flat inner tire on the passenger side, damn, booked it in today to Zurcher Tire in Monroe Indiana, they got me in and fixed it, no charge...

Tonight we do an oil change, it only requires 8 gallons of straight 40 weight, which is surprisingly difficult to find. The filter will be a new experience, it is called an oil bath filter, expecting a big mess.

Mongo update, post Mitty 2012.

No problems, no leaks, no torque... Mongo couldn't pull the Rustang and trailer up the hill into the infield. After some hairy moments on what is conservatively a very steep hill, I had to unload the Rustang and the trailer then roll back and take a run at the hill to get him up.

Thanks to the guys who assisted us around 12am on the way in dragging the trailer up and the Karl for towing the trailer out to the entrance area so we wouldn't run into that issue again on the way out.

Mongo needs mohr Cummins ISC

I'm not sure what was going on in that first pic, but it looks like I may have gone into a spontaneous burst of headbanging while Michelle is doing some sort of interpretive dance.

Mongo is being a butthead, pulled him in to check on fluids etc prior to departure and found a badly leaking inner wheel seal. Not good.

Found and ordered the seal thanks to part number supplied by US Coach, that will arrive tomorrow, so yet again a last minute thrash prior to the challenge.

Dammit

Yes, but it won't be attached to the green engine. There is red in the future for Mongo I believe....

Good luck at the challenge!
