Wow I've never seen a Ford 6.0 with that many miles. Friends had them & usually had head gasket & egr issues. You must not tow very heavy or in the Summer.
Its on its 3rd or 4th oem egr, never had hg that I know of. I tow about 8k all in the summer. Doesn't break a sweat.
passed pa inspection as well. High pressure ps line is weeping a hair and it could use a pinion seal but its not bad at all.
Willing to make a solid deal!
In reply to mdshaw :
The 6.0 earned its bad rep for head gasket problems, and a poor oil cooler location/design. But more did not have problems than did. And if ya get one that did not have problems in the first 100k, do proper maintenance, and don’t add a bunch of power to keep u with the bro-rollers, they’re actually a great engine.
Big if, when buying new; glad I didn’t!
Please LOWBALL ME it's gotta go.

When I was selling a Dodge Cummins, I was called by 2 different people with 6.0's wanting to trade theirs plus lots of cash, they were both on their 2nd engines & both were dead again. One was a really nice dually crew cab & I serious considered doing a Cummins swap into it. I also have 3 friends with them, 1 bought new in 05 King Ranch as his retirement present. He still has it but for the 3-4 years has had the typical issues while towing. He loves that truck & is his DD. He is so stubborn that he paid $18k for a new 6.0 motor with a warranty 3 years ago. I even showed him that he could have bought a used Cummins for $10k & had a truck worth $10k the next day. But he paid $18k & had a truck worth @ $6k the next day.
He is now contacting the lawyer involved in that big lawsuit that won against Ford. Since he is an original owner which is rare, he has a good chance of at least recovering everything he has paid. He has every receipt spent on it since new.
Besides the egr cooler, hg's etc, a big issue is the head bolts. There are 4 per cylinder. There are 6 on the 7.3 & finally 6 on the 6.7.
Mine seems to work just fine, for whatever that is worth
I can go cheap enough that you can afford to throw some hg and studs at it. This is a board of DIY, no?

Maybe it's steeper towing out west but in Idaho nobody wants them.
I mean, this seems like a steal already. Anyone have a ramp bed laying around?

It would be steeper out West but there's lot of these running around here without an issue. I have an event I run in Western MD that I tow my enclosed to and it's no problem on those hills.
Robbie, PM me if you are interested I can make it worth your while to find or make a ramp bed.

Dude, with all due respect, give it a rest. One post asking about whether common 6.0 PS issues being addressed is fair, but you've got 2 additional posts that are contributing nothing other than calling it worthless.
Seems like a heck of a deal for a tow pig. I'm not in the market and I'm still tempted!
In reply to mdshaw :
Not to be rude, but your friend wasted 18k... and not for the reason you think. I can give him the name of a shop that will do studs, and the other needed stuff while in there, for 8K. (Last years price, maybe more since we are a socialist country now). And guarantee it for the life of the truck.
Sad to say it, but all your friends stories have more to them than they are telling you.
When they were brand new, I’d be pissed if I had to spend 8 grand to fix something a car company sold me, but figure it into a used truck, no big deal. And I can also provide contact info for several, bought brand new, driven hard but with intelegence, and zero problems
yes, some had problems, and there earned their bad rep. , but the doom and gloom ya preach has been proved to be more hype than facts.

I am over here with a title in my hand and no money yet, and another truck I need to register and insure
I miss my 2006 f250. Crewcab Lariat with the long ass bed and 4x4. Did everything I needed it to with no issues. It was stock and towed all around California.

GLWS
Many thanks yupididit, it was actually the thread on your new Expedition a little while back that got me looking at Excursions again, that devolved into F250/350 extended cabs/quads bc my wife would rather have another truck, and somehow ended up with a Chevy 2500hd
I would probably take 3500 if someone wants to snag it before I part it out.
In reply to Paul_VR6 (Forum Supporter) :
Oh wow. Well I'll have an Excursion for sale soon lol
If anyone wants to make their lowballs official!
