Engine may be smoked, or it might be something easy. Car looks like the owner "drives by feel". Either way, if I were closer I'd probably be looking to buy this myself!
Listed at $1850 in Columbus OH

Maybe evanB could put some eyes on it, doesn't look too far from him.
running great till yesterday I just shut off in the highway and don’t stared again I don’t what’s wrong with it body have a lot of damage
and yet...
there's coolant & water bottles in the rear seat, and the trim piece that covers the bottom of the windshield and blocks access to the backside of the engine is off.
everything about those pictures says "I tried to fix it, and realized the engine problem is terminal... but I don't want to admit it"
wouldn't be surprised. spacecadet had a k20a pop on a (iirc) ~250kmi example he bought for similar money a few years ago.
Should we take turns sending messages asking if we can drive it home?
Just asking for a friend.

I've been busy ignoring it since I saw the ad. If someone else is interested and wants me to look at it that could probably be arranged.
In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :
Does the buyer get to keep the fortune cookie in the passenger seat though?
That cookie could be the key to solving the engine problem!
In reply to Robbie (Forum Supporter) :
Robbie: Hello? yes, I'm calling because I'm interested in buying your fortune cookie for $1000, and your borked Civic Si for $500.
[…]
Robbie: No, my name is Robbie, not Shirley. And, no, I'm not doing drugs; unless cheap race cars count.
[…].
Robbie: Oh, you already ate the cookie? We'll, then I'll buy the fortune for $500... Stop Laughing, I'm serious.
That car is haggard! Don't miss the busted front headlamp and entire front end. Mismatched and poorly painted LF fender. What happened to the trunk lid? Major dents in both rear quarters. Each one being enough to have previously totaled out the car.
In reply to John Welsh :
Yea if it was a clean civic that had "just stopped running" I probably would have bought it immediately.
That poor SI. Seems you could have fun with it and part it when done for $$. Si interiors are faster than regular interiors.
Kid shoulda opened the fortune cookie-

This is what happens when you "drive by feel"!

It's used and abused, but it doesn't mean it's not worth the $1800.
If someone really wants it, the trans is worth bucks since it has the helical LSD in it, and as long as the chassis is straight and not rusted out, it could be a good track car/W2W build.
I'd encourage someone to go look at it in person if they're looking for a cheap track car build they could put into a wall and walk away from guilt free.
If someone understands what to look for in the 8th gen.. they can see for sure in person if it's actually worth $1800.
that's how i got Hazmat for $1800 in 2019.
