I had a 1952, that's called a "Pliothouse Cab", very tall. No matter what color you choose, the box is always black. The chrome up front is stainless.
I love the way these things look, but I wouldn't want to have to drive one. Rigid steering columns and no crumple zones don't make sense around where I live.
Mine was a model B3C-116, 3 = 3/4 ton, 116 = wheelbase. B2B = 1/2 ton short box. Got T-Boned at a light by an old guy, so I put the '52 body on 1987 frame. 360, 727, Dana 60, posi. HEAT, 12 Volts! The dash shifter is from a Mopar motorhome. Bumper is a narrowed '84 Malibu wagon unit.
Seriously, lots of room here, the seat has a slide damper that changes the cushion stiffness; other little Dodge things Ford & Chevy never had.
I would definitely consider this truck.

Restomod, restomod!
Seriously, that's pretty cool. Definitely one of those, if I had a lot more time, and a lot more money....

Going back to what I said about safety, have him/her paint it bright orange, Raleigh has lots of inattentive or just bad drivers.

The whole sitting on the gas tank thing would scare me more than any of that.
Friend of mine has a very similar one. Im trying to talk him into letting me put it on a 4x4 frame on 37s....
