This 1950 Ford F-3 is the heavy-duty version of the famous “Bonus Built” Ford pickup truck line that introduced the standardized F-series naming convention used to this day.
The truck was bought new by my father in 1950 for use with his glass business. It was used lightly until 1974, and then retired to very occasional use. I inherited it from my dad in 1986. It has 17,373 original miles, and has spent most of its life parked in garages and barns.
The truck is powered by its original flathead V-8, with the heavy-duty 4-speed transmission and suspension. The truck is original as sold by the dealer—seat, trim, etc. Beside regular maintenance, it has had an original-color repainting and bed replacement in the early ‘70s. The body and frame are rock-solid.
The truck could be used as-is (it starts and runs beautifully), or easily restored to show level.
