1972 TR6 with clean title that someone in So Cal started to make into a race car.
Rust free former CA car. Nothing has been cut. BIG PRICE CUT, ONLY $2,500!!!!!
Yep, stupid cheap for a rust-free TR6.
Only because I am desperate to buy Lotus Europa parts while the exchange rates are still good.
To make this bearable I am keeping the refurbished chassis for my Dio Tipo build and supplying another good chassis that is all original.
Good weather may not last much longer, bring cash and a trailer.
It is a roller, I can stick some of the pieces loosely together for transport shipping but come and get it is probably cheaper.

The engine I am rebuilding for my TR6 Kit Car project came from this "Race Car".
I have put a stock 1970 engine into it. New hoses, alternator belt, engine and trans mounts.
I obtained nearly all the missing original parts from a third car I parted out due to accident damage.
All body panels for this car are strait, the fenders may be NOS replacements.
The "Racing" build was begun many years ago and never completed.
Doors do have the glass in them.
I have top bows, an excellent wood dash with full set of original gauges, seats that need covers, stock wheels and center caps, several rear bumpers and a decent front or two.
An excellent original wire loom is also included.
I have done a cold compression check and had the engine running.
No. 4 and 5 came out low, wet test brought them up, so stuck rings are most likely.
The car and engine sat indoors for many years so a sticky ring or two are not a big surprise, they may free up.
Allison ignition system works great, car fired right up.
Unable to keep running it due to the rear carb leaking, stuck float or bad gasket.
A full stainless exhaust system goes with it.
I also have extra engine parts for it.
Yes it is a frame up project.
But needing NO rust repair it will be thousands of dollars and MANY many hours ahead of patching up even an only "Slightly" rusted tub or frame.
I will take and post more pics when the light returns tomorrow.
No desire to part it out, buyer can do that if they like but it would be a shame.

This is really tempting. I have always loved a good tr6.

I got $1,800.00 for a stripped, bent, but rust-free shell, and the bent chassis with no title.
I had two buyers wanting it, sold to first to commit and pay.
That car had no engine or trans, no dash, no seats, no wiring, etc. as they were reserved for this build.
The buyer reckoned he would save $10,000 in rust repairs over the shell he already had.
And yes, he came all the way from Minnesota to get it.
TR6 is one of the few LBC's that can still be restored at a profit if you start with "Good bones".
Mechanical parts are still inexpensive and readily available.
Trim pieces like Dash, Gauges, bumpers, and grill are the hard parts and this car has them.
Fiberglass transmission cover will not rot like the cardboard original.

So much want. So little time. I hope that stays in the GRM family.

Arthritis now appearing in the other shoulder. angry
So I MUST now concentrate on the projects I have already put the most time and funds into.
Plan had been to complete the restoration on this one and put it up on BAT for income.
Now realize that cannot be done working by myself, and even if I offer good pay there is no competent help available locally.
You guys back east have an advantage in being less spread apart, but in the West we have less rust. wink
If it helps to make the sale I can get the body off the chassis to display the bottom side.
When this is sold the Dio Tipo TR6 is to become a priority.

In reply to RichardSIA :

If I wasn't 25% done with MonZora and committed to the other 75%, you'd already have a deposit.

Significant price drop, may sell for even less without the title.
Now willing to sell the body less chassis as well.
Determined to get my El Camino closer to finished before winter.

Contact me to discuss.

it kinda hurts, doesn't it?  i'm feeling the same pain.  TR6 is #1 on my list of "2-seaters i actually want."

Yes. Yes it does.

If I didn't already have 2 old British cars and 4 (yikes, 4) "2 seaters", this would be on my list.

Heck, I already have 8 wheels for it on the shelf.

I have a clean 1974 title with vin plates that I will never use and am willing to donate to the cause.  So one of you guys needs to take this off of Richard's hands.  I'd take it on but just finished a full restoration and went back to working full-time.

I have the correct 1972 title in my name.
Only reason I might like to keep it would be to ease registration of the TR6 based Dio Tipo I am building.

Got curious and looked up  TR6 heritage shells.
They were a LOT more than what I am asking for an entire car.
Also appears they are NLA in any case.

I did find this, "Back when you could buy the reproduction Heritage body shells, they were between $12.5-$14K.  Today you can get a new reproduction shell from Revington TR in the UK, and the cost is about 24,000 GBP ($30K US), and then you have to ship it to the USA".

So I looked up the current Revington price, £33,400/$40,000 plus shipping!
Hard to believe anyone ever pays such a price.
I have a body rotisserie, for a fraction of the Revington price I will soda blast and put this shell into sealer.
I found a similar refurbished rust-free shell listed for sale on-line, at "Only" $17,000.

feeBay was a bust.
So still available.
Moving it back into the storage building for now.
May find time to soda-blast and put it into sealer when the weather cools some.
Of course if I do that the price goes up.

OKAY, I really want the MM PU more than this TR6 so here is a new deal.
Only $3,500 for the complete car less the duplicate spare parts that I will sell separately.
Rust free tub alone is worth more than this!

At this price distance is no excuse.

Need to buy Lotus parts while the exchange rate is good.
Keep finding more that I need.
