No worries, I was just a little frustrated after dealing with a few too many unrealistic and semi literate craigslist lookie lous yesterday. As noted I'm the worst offender ad sending my own threads off the rails and you weren't the first or only person to list another car for sale in my ad. We all do it because we love cars and love to talk about them and get distracted. Heck I have a for sale ad for my Yugo that looks more like a build thread than a for sale ad some days :)

I knew it when I said it, car is mostly sold now anyway so I thought I'd derail my own thread and have some fun with it ;)

Ebay buyer flaked (seriously, Ebay is just becoming craigslist with fees anymore) so this is still available.

Well... That sucks!

It is a shame that ebaymotors is so good to us enthusiasts with their support of things like the GRM Challenge, and yet their actual product leaves so much to be desired.

You heard my latest rant last week about a "bolt on" ebay purchase; I just do not use them as a "go to" source because of all of the hard luck stories I hear...

As for the Thing:

I have never driven this car but I have seen it up close several times. If anything, Jim is being over meticulous about the minor issues because it is his nature to reveal absolutely everything and he is a bit of a perfectionist.

This is a good looking and clean vehicle that has had a reliable owner for a while now that has gone over it well. I would buy with confidence if I was in the market; especially since it is priced very well.

Good luck with the sale!

Thank you for the kind words and pointing out something that I assume would be evident to anyone looking at any of the vehicles I have for sale but really probably isn't.
I always undersell a car. I will focus on the negative and let you rejoice in the positive when you see it. I would much rather someone walk away from a deal feeling they made out better than expected than feeling they got cheated. I've bought and sold around 120 cars in my life now and I've never had one come back and never had a complaint. I'll tell it like it is when I describe my cars because sooner or later you'll see the car, maybe even buy the car so these things won't hide.

eBay does have its share of flakes nowadays, but one key is persistence - hit that relist button right away and get it back up there. It'll sell. I've been trying to sell some GS400 parts for a few weeks and finally sold a good chunk last night.. relist relist relist

Will be doing, have to do the whole non-paying bidder thing first and that can't be initiated until tomorrow even though he's admitted he has no intention of following through. Might just shoot a 2nd chance offer to the 2nd highest bidder but to be honest the vehicle is worth more than the final bid so maybe I'll raise my reserve and stop being so damn impatient. Prospects for a buyer on the Colony Park are looking much better, unfortunately.

Any thought about bringing it to Carlisle next month? Granted, I imagine you're hoping it's sold by then.

Considered it but free time is not in my favor. Not entirely ruling it out though.

From the "I must love my wife" files. I had to turn down this trade offer. Truth is his car is worth more than mine but he proposed the trade.

Wife hates utes and we kinda need the money and less cars but...

Was also emailed by the seller of this http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/4394831026.html

He said as soon as it sells he's coming for the Thing. If he offered a straight trade I'd bear the wrath of the wife.

That Ranchero is awesome. Yes, you really love your wife to turn that down.

The '57 is pretty cool too.

The guy with the 57 and I are having a beer and a look at each other's vehicles next week.... I really shouldn't
