Hi All, not sure where to price this (I have >$5k into it) but looking to sell my 1975 280z. Clean title in my name. I dragged it from Texas, but it spent some time abroad in Holland and picked up some rust on driver’s side along the way. It was parked in 1994. Currently a roller, no brakes. Engine that comes with is from a 1983 280zx, also includes matching 5 speed transmission and differential. Original 4 speed trans, and head/parts from OG engine included. Engine painted and mostly re-gasketed, but haven't heard run. it came from a car with Digital speedo, so the thermostat housing I think is slightly different than all other Z cars. Original Engine Harness/ECU is still in car, donor harness and ECU come with as well.
Lightweight flywheel and new clutch assembly here with ARP Hardware.
Front suspension gone through and refreshed with poly bushings including steering link (other than tension rods, rubber). New wheel bearings. Front has welded on coilovers.
Brakes upgraded to vented rotor/Toyota caliper. New longer lug studs. Calipers not attached and some brake lines detached as well.
All parts on hand to update rear suspension as well (bushings, spare LCAs+knuckles, rear coils)
Extra tail lamp assemblies - 4 or 5 total between the 2 sides. Tons more new parts. Top mount diff kit, urethane trans mount, fuel tank straps, clutch master and slave, brake master and some front lines. I have spreadsheets showing what i've bought and when.
Includes 4 280ZX Turbo wheels in acceptable condition, no center caps.
Downsides to the shell
Hatch/driver’s quarter dinged bad. Hatch is beyond saving and doesn’t open, but I think the quarter can be pulled/replaced (I have a spare ¼ cut included as well)
Driver’s door doesn’t latch. I think it’s the latch, even though at first look it appears its because of the body damage
Outside Trim was falling apart, and so is removed - left pinholes along the sides of the car
OG gas tank is here but destroyed and stinky. New ones available, or do a fuel cell.
Starting a new job next year. I know my time will be limited, and my space is already limited. I am sad, I love Z's and look forward to starting over in the future with one that already runs.
So yeah - maybe say $4200 to start? Am I crazy? Great parts value, great shell potential, still not perfect.
