I've found another 76 with less rust and it looks like I'm pulling the trigger on it and putting mine up for sale. Chamonix over blue. Most of the exterior is in primer of different vintages. Front and rear shock towers are solid as are the fender flares and rear quarters. However, front fender bottoms, rockers, spare well, front and rear windo bottom corners, floors, all need attention. It is complete and has a title. Currently wearing bottle caps but plan to sell with steel . Wheels. It rolls. Doesn't run. Tin top. Thinking $1500. Located in Gaithersburg MD

If you only want it to last, say, an hour, you could probably stuff a massive turbo on it. But then you're probably better off starting with a e30 set up and stuffing it in there. That e10 may be the most rugged BMW car engine ever. Although, that isn't really a high bar, I'll admit
FWIW, most of the metal work is either flat or slight curve, ie, no need for stamped panels. Just a lot of gas and wire.....and weld through primer.
Oh, and the bumpers must be worth something to someone (money towards challenge)
Forgot to mention, this is an a/c car. I'll take money off to take the components as the other car isn't a/c
Quick homework shows the m10 can handle 12.5:1 on race gas but I had a friend who ran 14:1. Honestly, I believe it lasted about 3 hours of race time. Lol. Thst with some Chinese weber side drafts and a schrick cam and headers?....
