I usually have a few good cars I keep on hand if I get bored and want to restore one, but I think I have too many right now! Testing the waters on this one here before I put it up on eBay. It's a 1979 RX-7 GS, early production (built July 1978). It has 121081 miles on it, but the engine, transmission and driveshaft were removed by a previous owner. It "looks" like somebody was going to "fix" it but never did. I say this because it has a funny "Cosmo racing" badge on the back and painted white shifter surround. Both easily fixed. It's an original WV car, but rust is actually pretty low. Has one through-rust spot behind right rear wheel and driver's door is rusted at the bottom. I can include a spare door for the right price. These early cars are hard to come by, especially with the interior parts in as good as shape as this one. It was garaged and/or spent it's life on pavement under a cover. The carpet was removed because a window was left down and the smell, well.. wasn't great. The rest of the interior is there, so new carpet is really all you would need. The seats are from an FB chassis car (sorry, original seats are gone). I'm putting up two pics right now, but have plenty more and can discuss in more detail if there is a serious buyer. These cars are not getting easier to find. Driver's sell for over $3,500 all day, more for earlier production numbers like this one.
Car is in VA currently. Please feel free to let me know any questions. I'm going to place on eBay with a reserve as I'd like to restore it next summer if it doesn't sell. Asking price here is $750 obo. Door cards and dash alone would sell for that, so please don't waste my thread with how crazy you think the pricing is. If you know a good car when you see it, you'll be all over this one.
You wouldn't have any spares?

Spare what, seats, wheels, cars?
This is fine to put in the 2014 f/s section, anything can go there so long as it's less than $2014.00 USD. I was really confused how a roller rx-7 could be more than 2k! The open classified is for anything car related greater than 2014.00.

A front fender, a window regulator and a hood prop for a 1st gen rx7
Great to see another early car like mine. I tried selling mine for a lot more knowing I would take a beat down, but when it went on BAT a few days later I got a real beating over my asking price. The early cars are the best if you ask me, and mine is even earlier than this one, and only a two owner car. Good luck with the sale. I wish I had some spare cash as I would love another early car with the black interior. Oh yeah what part of VA is the car in?
In reply to markwemple: I think I have all of those parts, but shipping a fender can be tricky. Power or manual for the window regulator?
Manual regulator. It's for my race car. Where are you located?

This car is located in Culpeper, VA. It's an 11,XXX serial number, built in July of '78, they didn't start really making refinements for the US market until October that year. Still early enough that the hood prop is on the right (PS) side as is the volume knob, etc. I'm fairly certain I'm the third owner, will confirm shortly.
I do have an extra manual window regulator as well. Which fender do you need (DS/PS), if I don't have it, I know who does. Hood prop... pretty sure I should have one of those too.

South-eastern Massachusetts. 02330 to be specific. I will check on the regulator, but I am 99.999% sure I have a few of them.
Yeah, shipping a fender from Mass. would be more than the cost of the fender.
