1980 Austin Mini LHD
Imported from Chile in 2013 (this is all steel English made Mini, NOT a fiberglass mini that was made in Chile)
Clear Title in Michigan. All import registration paperwork included.
Engine
1275 A+ Engine, stock internals
Used Engine from Mini-Mania, Installed in 2013. Good compression. Stock Internals.
Carburetor: SU HIF6-44 1.75", rebuilt by Joe Curto earlier this year. It could use further tuning on the car but drives better than ever now.
New parts installed with engine (unique to the A+ engine):
- Distributor (59D4E with electronic ignition),
- Starter
- Intake
- RC40 Exhaust manifold, pipe and muffler.
- Radiator, fan and hoses, various gaskets and seals, engine mounts, front subframe mounts.
Suspension
New Steering Rack, Front disc brake conversion, all 4 shocks and front rubber springs in 2012.
New in 2017 10x4.5 MiniLite Wheels with YokohamaA008 165/70R10 Tires, a few hundred miles of use.
Hi-Lo Adjustable front suspension height
New left front rubber spring in 2022 (was installed incorrectly before)
Interior
Bucket Seats from European Ford Escort unique Instrument pod from MG (I was told this by previous owner, cant confirm. But they work good and look nice)
new turn signal / horn/ High Beam stalk installed recently
rear seat belts installed
has an amp and speakers to connect to an ipod or phone
Kill switch
Exterior
Paint is generally in good shape, but has scrapes and scratches. Hood has some paint bubbles and damage to the side flange.
New floor pans installed in the past. There are some dents but they are in good shape and water tight.
At some point I think the car was in an accident and a Mini Mk I or II front panel was welded on. This isn’t noticeable unless you are under the car and looking for it. However, the front subframe body mounts are not correct and not connected. Not having any effect on anything, but it took a long time to figure this out.
