Front floor was sprayed with Boom Mat then painted (along with the rollbar and most of the floor panels) with white polyurethane marine paint.

Weighed 2,935 after taking out the interior plastic, passenger seat and carpet. Since then (have to be 3,000 pounds minimum in C Prepared), added 50-pound lead ballast, rollbar, rear aero, and swapping to AR5 from a T10 (about 20 pounds heavier according to the internet). I'm guessing it's around 3,050 depending on fuel.

Roughly 89,XXX miles -- odometer doesn't work, and I don't think it worked when I first drove the car in 2003. Ha ha!

To be CAMT legal, it would need new carpet and interior door panels, but I have a non-OEM passenger seat and most of the interior plastic. Removed wiper motor for clearance of hard fuel line but wipers are still attached. Still has glass windshield, hatchback glass and rollup glass windows ... and an UNCRACKED DASHPAD! (IYKYK)

The bracket on the block where the AC mounts is broken so you can't be big pimpin' with ICE COLD air conditioning in your racecar. Or if you can do aluminum welding ...
This car was put together in the late 1980s to compete in the then-new E Street Prepared class by west-coaster Dan Livezey (featured in the June 1990 issue of Hot Rod), then the car changed hands to Brian Kinser, Raleigh Boreen, Big Mike Snyder, Tyler Stewart, and finally me in 2008. Dan won two Solo national championships, Sam Strano won one, and I think Jean Kinser won a Ladies national championship. I luck-boxed into a few Pro Solo podiums and local ESP championships.

Thought about BAT, but it's a last resort. Don't feel like dealing with people (who aren't going to buy the car anyway) nitpicking every little thing or telling us how they had a 1992 Camaro that came stock with a 350 and a 5-speed. :)

I love that this car was cool to begin with, has a long autocross history, and is still relevant and competitive today.  If I was retired and had $$$, this would be my triple-threat Camaro project car.

I think anything can do an HPDE. I drove my 2003 Ford Lightning a couple times on Summit Point's Shenandoah Circuit* and my 2000 Lightning at the main circuit at Summit Point and VIR!



If I were to dedicate the Camaro for HPDEs, I would at least get more aggressive brake pads up front. It has Porterfield R4S (not R4) pads now. It has later "LS1" 4th-gen F-Body calipers and rotors (https://bigbrakeupgrade.com/product/ls1-complete-conversion-copy/) so it's much better than the single-piston calipers from when I autocrossed it in E Street Prepared.

* Funny story about the first time I drove the 2003 Lightning at an WDCR-SCCA HPDE on the Shenandoah. I was instructing and pulled into grid for the first session with all the other instructors, and the guy running grid freaked out. "What are you doing?! You can't drive a TRUCK out there!"
