1988 CRX Si (non-running) for sale.

This was a 2 owner car before I got it. Nearly completely stock, 208k miles on it. Only updates were a radio and a phone mount.

Currently non running. Stock motor is still in it, never opened or serviced aside from timing belts and valve adjustments. Motor turns over, have NOT compression tested or drained the fuel or changed fluids. It may very well just need good gas and new ignition components.  The PO was a trusted friend and claims it was running when parked. I figured I would just swap it since it has 208k miles on it. Basically I just verified it wasn't seized hoping the motor would still be rebuildable.

PO daily drove it until he upgraded and parked it in a heated barn here in TX in 2006, where it sat until I bought it earlier this year. Since then it has sat where you see it in these photos, in my heated shop.

I bought it to restore it and make it a driver. Price includes the JDM OBD0 SiR B16A motor you see. This motor came from JDM Chicago, who is well rated, tested, etc. I purchased the motor at about the same time and it has sat in the same shop.

I have come to the realization that I won't ever get around to getting it running again due to work and time constraints. Looking to find a home for it where it will get the love it deserves.

You can see all the issues in the photos. Everything is there, all that is not shown is the hood and fender and center caps. Caps are in great shape and still match the wheel color well. Hood and fender are as roached as the rest of the car , with a few minor dings. Side marker and all hardware and trim is included (also rough but functional). There are only a few minor dings (shown) and peeling paint on trim, aside from what you see. Windshield is fairly new and not cracked, although the install left a bit of RTV squished out. No visible rust anywhere. Motor bits are all there. No broken harness connectors.

The interior is in great shape. HVAC controls  have the typical rot and function but the structure isn't really there to hold them in place. No dash cracks or bubbles. Vents all work. Steering wheel isn't rotted. Headliner isn't sagging. Door cards in great shape. Carpet in great shape (aside from PO's dog hair). Trunk well isn't rusty. Spare and tools are there. Seats are beautiful. Trunk trim is all there. Hatch supports do need to be replaced.

Given the age and time sitting I figure it will need new shocks, suspension rubber, hoses, belts, tires and brake components, but it should be a good and relatively easy project for someone.

The B16A looks a bit rough but came from a reputable seller and as you may know, are getting hard to find. It includes the entire engine harness, sans a small under-hood/chassis section cut off (see photo) and what looks like a few VAFC or SAFC wire splices (also photo'd). All the connector clips appear to be in very good condition.

The head is a PR3-4 and the trans is a Y1 with LSD. No mounts, no shift linkage, no B pipe. WYSIWYG on the motor.

Asking 5500 for everything or 2k for the car and 4k for the motor if I have to split it. Both are located in Fort Worth, and I am willing to deliver within a few hundred miles or help with freight. Can take more pics if needed. PM for more info. A few long time forum members can vouch for me (I lurk more than I post).

Damn, I would love this if I wasn't moving in a few months. My CRX HF was one of the few cars I truly missed.

In reply to yupididit :

I REALLY wanted to build this. The car is as nice inside as I have seen in maybe 10 or 15 years. Aside from 10k BAT or JDM imports. Even many of those. The paint and body are easy fixes. And the fact that it is complete is nuts also. The PO removed the hood and fender thinking the needed to be replaced, bu they are straight and should be easily repaired. I will get pics of those also.

I'm interested and in Austin. I'm actually buying a diesel Excursion from another GRM'er in a few weeks, which I can use to tow this
