1988 Scirocco 16v 5 speed red/black cloth.

Nice shape. Runs and drives good. Shows 117k miles and works....might be right? New timing belt and tensioner.

Body is pretty straight; paint photographs nicer than it looks in person-has quite a bit of clear coat peel but still buffs out nice. Euro bumpers and headlights. Has a few minor dings.

Interior clean and functional but dash is cracking pretty bad. Cold a/c hot heater. All electrical works including dash lights. Original AM/FM cassette with blown speakers. No rips or tears-some wear on drivers side outer bolster. Headliner nice. Sunroof tilts but does not retract easily-needs adjustment on cables?

Bilstein struts and H&R springs, otherwise stock as far as I can tell. New front tires 40-50% on rears (rear tires mismatched).

Clean title on hand.

Located in Carson City, NV (hour south of Reno) willing to assist with delivery anywhere

Looking for $3500 or best offer

will have interior pics soon (battery died)

Oh man, what a nice looking car. I always wanted one of these. The closest I got to owning one was my '87 GTI 16V.

Nice Rocco! 88 16v's are the rarest of the MKII cars with the lowest production numbers.

Love it! My friend has one of these he's in the middle of restoring.

Even with a broken reverse lockout, and 4 warped rotors, the car was an absolute blast to drive. The kid we bought it from definitely wasn't ready for the test drive I took him on.

But seriously, what a great ride! I'd say this is well worth the price.

I loved mine in my 20's. Great ride.

I'm not sure why it isn't suitable for a kid to drive. My opinion is a kid should learn on a stick. We hire a lot of grown engineers here who can't drive a manual trans.

No, no no.....the first car she ever drove was a manual trans, manual steering Jeep-she know how to drive, not just steer and point. I may have had girls, but I will have my influence on them

It is more the lack of ABS and 4 wheel drive, the ease of breaking our small towns low speed limits in a bright red wedge (in the land of bro-dozers and SUVs that has had law abiding Dad pulled to the side twice already) and the fact when I took her practicing driving (still on a permit) across some of the best roads the Northern Sierras have to offer she had to explain to all her friends that she is learning to heel and toe, how to clip an apex, and how tire pressure affects a cars balance, that has her (Mom) worried.

So ya know, the plan is to sell this and buy her a "teen girl appropriate" car (whatever that is-but no beige Corollas here, maybe XJ?) and have enough left to get her a car to run at the local 1/4 mile dirt track (eyeing a couple already)

That, my friend, is doing it right! My 12 year old is about to start his first autox season in a kart. I have a 2007 Civic (auto ) thats worth about the same as your Rocco, meet in Texas? Please sell it so I stop clicking on the ad, a Scirocco is on my bucket list .

That 16V I talked about earlier? I got the worst ticket of my 23 yo life in it. I completely understand your thoughts here. That car will draw law enforcement like kids to cookies. In that red? Even worse.
