Wow what a time capsule!
I saw this a while back when the guy posted it. Its definitely a cool car. But Im not sure what class SCCA wise, if any, the car would even been remotely competitive in as it is. It would be cool if someone like SVRA did am 80's - 90's showroom stock class at some point.
That was my first ever car... Well, not this one, but a 91 SC2. I thought that thing was the sportiest dumb little thing.
I remember those cars. Dating myself, but I was just getting into Showroom Stock at the time. They were not competitive. I don't recall seeing them at the Runoffs at all. By 1992 or 1993, Miatas dominated SSB.
$7500 is an obscene asking price for it. It looks like it has a welded cage, but bolt-in cages were still legal then. If it is a decent welded cage that is legal in some form of racing today, the car might be worth half the asking price. It really doesn't have any provenance.

It depends when. They got moved to SSC later and were competitive even with Hondas in the class. Several overall wins.
In reply to B13Birk :
There are a handful running in SCCA Improved Touring. I believe they are classed in ITA, but not sure.
