NMNA. Ok, so it's a bit of a high-priced VeeDub, but I don't remember ever seeing these wagons, even new. I like the crazy mods too - supercharger? Why not. Syncro AWD too? You crazy!

Mmm... B3... I learned to hate VW's with one of those. The ex- had a GLX wagon with a VR6/5 spd. I just sent her a link to this for kicks...
I am fairly certain the Passat Syncro was never imported to the US, but a lot of VW's from that era were like Legos and if you could get the parts from Europe, building one isn't terribly difficult. I'm sure he's selling that for a big loss. I wouldn't buy it.
Yeah, we only got the G60 in the Corrado. I don't think the Syncro system was available on these stateside either.
One of the techs at my local vet's office is driving a gold mid eighties VW Quantum wagon. Kind of like this but gold:
I'm not a vw fan, but I like it. Looks pretty clean. I haven't checked to see if it's a stick. Am I correct in assuming with a name like Quantum that they were 4wd?
Those were actually built by the factory. I've seen a few of them, but they were never officially imported to the USA...
I'm a little confused here. This 23 year old VW wagon AWD is lusted after all around. My 8 year old VW wagon AWD (which is a better/faster/safer/more reliable car) is pretty universally shunned. Do I need to put mine in a garage for 15 years and pull it back out then?
In reply to KyAllroad:
No... VW'ers always have an illogical lust for cars that weren't sold here and/or cars VW never built.
Yeah, I think the G60 Syncro Passats are more sought after because of their ridiculously low North American presence (like ~1000 sold in Canada only IIRC) and sheer weirdness. Allroads are a dime a dozen by comparison.
I would also be far more comfortable working on a transverse I4 than the monstrous Allroad TT V6, and that's before you look at the crazy Allroad suspension and luxury stuff. I can begrudgingly handle old VWs, the new ones scare me to death.
Yep - vw unobtanium. Interesting but hysterically heavy as we recently found out when trying to my push my buddies at SOWO....
