This car was prepared for autocross by a buddy of mine. I helped him with various parts of the build, and co-drove with him for a year (that's me "driving" above). Then I bought it. But I also got a house, and now have ProDarwin Jr. due to arrive in a week or so. I simply don't have time for this any more.

Its fun. Its ugly. Its currently STR legal. Swap the diff/wheels and you have a good STS car. Go nutty and have fun in CSP. Break out the sawzall and you have a fun DP starting point. It doesn't keep up with higher power STR cars too well (in my hands) on the big courses, but on small lots its a blast. I've set fastest street tire time several times with it at CDC events in the DC area.

I'll let these quotes from my buddy's for sale ad explain the state of affairs when the car was purchased.

Mark said: This is my dedicated autocross car. It is foremost a race car and secondly a beater. The care and maintenance on this car has been primarily for reliability and performance. This is not a show car, this is a race car. It is fun as hell to drive and corners like a dream. It’s a wonderful sunny day car and it’s very easy to work on. I have autocrossed it over the last 3 years and have done well with it. It was built as an autocross car and qualifies for CDC’s “small bore” class or the SCCA “STR” class. I am selling it because I have too many rear wheel drive cars that don’t hold a baby seat. The paint scheme for the car has gone through various “experiments”. It was primer black when I bought it. I painted it with chalkboard paint for a season. I messed around with a rustoleum paint job. I scrapped that and it is now painted with black plastidip. It’s a fun car. It has a fun paint job. Then nice thing about plastidip is that you can keep painting over it, then peel it off like Elmer’s Glue. There are a few dings on the body. Nothing major, but it has gotten backed into by my ****ing neighbors twice without me being there and they claimed it wasn’t them. Front quarter panel and rear corner panel. Again, it’s a racecar, not a show car.

Bad:
The top goes up and down, but the back window is cracked, yellow, and is torn near the zipper. Gorilla tape or sunny days are your friends here. Or budget for a new top.
The small cover below the steering column has fallen off, and the fastening tabs to hold it in place are broken.
Couple of dents, as described above. I will update this thread with pictures ASAP.
Minor plastic rivet or small hardware fasteners from some underbody plastics missing, a few missing plastic tabs on front bumper missing (currently replaced with sheet metal).

A couple of people have asked about the underside. I've posted some pics above. Have to correct a few, but what's there will give you an idea of what there is to work with. Car is very solid. Surface rust on a few brackets, mainly the fuel-line/filter brackets, heatshield, braces, and the diff, but nothing structural as far as I can tell. There's some evidence on the pass side of the bottom hitting something (large rock) and banging/scraping it up. Aside from the heatshield + fuel brackets, all of the other bolts, braces, rear subframe, etc. on the underside have pretty much come off during the build. Any of those being seized is very unlikely at this point as the car has only been in VA/NC since then. There is no rust around the drain holes or evidence of soft metal there, however they have not been enlarged per the TSB.

Open to partial trades that involve any of the following:
Full-Suspension 29er size Large, or even a good frame with fork/shock, or some good components for one.
Also would consider a large hardtail SS 29er.
15x8 4x100 wheels w/ tires (for the DD)

Would you be interested in a mint GT Carbon Zaskar Expert 29'er? The frame size is a medium, but I'm 6' and it's slightly large for me. It has around 100 suburban miles, very lightly used.

Would you trust this thing to make a trip from NC to TX?

I REALLY don't need another 94R but...racecar.

Not interested in the GT... already have a hardtail geared 29er.

Yes, I would trust this NC to TX.
