Up for sale is a one family owned Range Rover, which is owned by my mother-in-law. She inherited it from her brother who purchased it in California who passed away 10 years ago. Since it has been driven very little (only in the summer months) and was professionally stored and maintained. Comes with a complete service history, and all of the original documents. Further Information about this addition of vehicle:
1997 Land Rover Range Rover Vitesse 4.6 HSE Vitesse Edition: The Vitesse Edition models cost $3,000 more than the standard HSE were painted AA Yellow & Monza Red. Vitesse is French for “Speed”. The AA Yellow and Monza Red editions were the same except for the colors. They had all the standard HSE items and ash black leather seats with yellow or red piping . The side mirrors and lower part of the front bumper were painted body color and they has a “blackout grille” (darker plastic than the grills on other models). The inside door handles were chrome rather than black. The Vitesse came standard with the 300-watt 10 amp Harmon Kardon 12-speaker sound system with “parametric equalization” and “active dual-driver subwoofer”. A total of 100 to 150 of each color were sold made (Land Rover Special Edition Brochure from 1997 said a total of 250 of the red and yellow “high impact color” Vitesse editions would be produced). Land Rover sold very few yellow Range Rovers and other than the 1997 Vitesse the only other yellow P38 Range Rovers were a small number of non-Vitesse AA yellow Range Rovers in 1997, the special TReK competition models and the Borego Edition in 2002.

What are you thinking top dollar is for the vehicle?
BTW, the wording in the ad is a bit off-putting to me. Not trying to be mean-spirited, but constructively helpful.
In reply to spitfirebill: She hasn't given me a number yet, I think she is still on the fence, but I am trying to advocate for her to sell it.
Let me know what is off-putting, so I can make some changes, I really want her to sell the vehicle because she has no room for it.
In reply to trigun7469:
I’m not interested in hearing about her lay-off and forced retirement. I do not pay someone for their memories. This is bidness. Then it tells you who will be able to buy it and they have to give her top dollar. I think we on this web site know these Range Rovers do not sell for top dollar. The later stuff in a different font is more what I would want to know. Also being in the land of ice and salt, how's the undercarriage?
I wish her the best in this endeavor. I could not have loved my M-I-L any more.
Yeah, the lay-off and forced retirement is going to bring out the "would you take 500 bucks" vultures.
Top dollar for one of these is still not a lot.
I would argue that it's being advertised for $20k, not that it's going for $20k...

There was on on Seattle CL last month for $7500
I think a 19 year old Rover will be a tough sell for "top dollar". Who is looking for it? Rare does not always equal valuable
I have seen very few low mileage examples based on 12.9k ask price no mention of service history or how many owners asking $19k might not be to bad of a idea, not saying that she would get it but it doesn't sound out of bounds.
I'm going to tell you the problem with a Range Rover in the 15-20K range. It's the Land Cruiser. Once you get into the 15-20K range, I can get into a newer land cruiser or Lexus LX. You would have to find the absolute right person and sit on it for a while to get more than 10-12K for that car.

Doesn't Aussie Steve have one of these?
I dunno, Range Rover types tend to have more money than sense almost by definition, right? Post it on those kind of sites, play up the rarity, and you might get a collector to bite for 10-20k. It's a really cool truck, eye-catching, has that cachet of old money. I kinda doubt she'll get anywhere near 20, but I think 10-12 is definitely possible. Look at putting it on BaT - they eat this stuff up. Does wirewheel.com do any consignment sales?
You're not gonna sell it for 20k (or 10k, or 8k) here. This is the cheapest place on the internet. We're gonna look at it, pick apart the flaws in the ad, and someone might offer you a roll of nickels and a busted Miata.
BTW, I'll trade her a roll of nickels and a busted Miata.

Yes and no. He has the uber super rare supercharged one, one of three or something.
And i still doubt THAT truck is worth $20k.
The Rangie in OP looks like a $10k obo listing to me, but maybe there's a rabid fan out there that just has to have the yellow at any price. Rough go of it when clean P38s commonly sell for under $5k.
