I've got over $6k in this vehicle. I have over $3k in just the swap. If you have looked for these recently, you know finding a clean one can be very difficult. Finding the "right" B16A swap is also not easy (for an EK) and they are not cheap. The car was a one-owner vehicle from new when I bought it, bone stock. I slowly brought it to where it was over the last several years. Sold it to a buddy a few years ago, then bought it back, then did the JDM swap when it spun a main a few thousand miles ago. I've owned this car for the majority of the last 10 years and have the full history for anyone interested.
Donor motor/engine was super clean and came w/the Spoon LSD and ECU. I was suspicous of the Spoon LSD, so opened up the trans and verified it. While in there, I replaced several worn synchros, hubs, and bearings, and rechecked all clearances per the factory manual. Clutch was good and an unknown lightweight fly was present, all of which were reused.
After a few thousand miles, it developed grinding when shifting at speed, as if the clutch weren't disengaging all the way or synchros or shot, which I know is not the case. I have not done any further troubleshooting as I have not had time, and I suspect I will not have time for a while to troubleshoot or pull the trans. I also have way too many project cars right now and need to thin the herd.
Engine swap is well sorted. If you have ever done a B swap on a Civic you will know what I am talking about (mounts, shift linkage, exhaust, etc.). The donor came with most parts and I bought new Honda parts where I needed them. There is an absurd amount of new Honda hardware on the car. New OEM timing belt went on before it went in. Valves adjusted to spec at the same time. Many new seals and gaskets. No leaks. Newer Bridgestone Potenzas. Hawk front pads. Rear drums work great and have good OEM shoes with lots of life left.
Suspension is set up well to be aggressive but streetable (I have 3 blown discs and it's not too rough for me). The S2k seats and Momo wheel completely changed the attitude of the car. The driving position is more like an S2k now than a Civic.
Paint is starting to show its age. Some fading of clear on the hood, roof, and mirrors. Still in fantastic condition and you likely will not find a cleaner chassis. Have a good bit of spares I can probably include. Still have the entire D swap if you want it (200k miles, spun main, but trans and head are good).
Cruise was removed several years back and I do not have it. Same goes for the airbag, original wheel, and original seats.
I'd like to see it go to a good home. The car has a tremendous amount of potential.
