I got bit by the bug of having another full size van, so I am looking at selling my Miata to be able to buy another Ford E-Series. I know kind of odd switch of vehicles. But I also have motorcycles to keep me happy.
1999 Mazda Miata
157,600 miles
5 speed manual
JVC cd player with AUX input
949 Racing 6UL wheels
Looking for $3000 of best offer. I'm in Torrington, CT (northwest corner of the state)
I bought this in July right when I was working for the Post Office and walked to work. So it was never used to commute with in the time that I have had it. Used it mostly when visiting my parents or just going for a drive.
Three items of note to disclose.
-
Airbag light recently came on, according to the blinks it indicates it's the P/S airbag
Update for about a month (since Feb) now they light has turned itself back off and stayed off. I did nothing.
-
Clutch does release high, does not slip but I would say it might be due in a few thousand miles
-
Has some shake at around 40mph and 70mph. Higher or lower than both those speeds and it's not present. I haven't gotten around to looking into it because I really don't drive it all that often. If it was some that was constant or grew with speed I would have checked it out by now.
So that's the worst of it. It has a pretty clean body, supposedly repainted at some point by a previous owner. Has some slight scratches, no dents that I can recall (I'll go around and get a lot of pictures once it warms up a little outside), there are two spots mid way up on each of the rear wheel arches that the paint is bubbling and the underneath is a little crunchy. From 10 feet you don't notice it. I had bought the car off of eBay and I didn't notice them until the second week I had the car.
I'm just posting some pictures from the summer right now. When it not single digits with wind chill I'll get some fresh pictures.
You can make out the bubble looking close. The stuff visible at the bottom of the door is pollen, not chipped paint.
T-Shirts not included, I had just binged on blipshift.com
The latest picture I have right now from Sept. 22

Bump.
The airbag light seems to be intermittent. Isn't always on.
I can also throw in some 4x100 vw wheels for spares or to replace the wheels currently on the car if you have something else already to put on.
Any interest in selling just the wheels?

Yes I would be agreeable to selling just the wheels. I can get a couple better pictures tomorrow and measure the tread depth on the tires.

Because if they're 15x9 and you'll ship, I want to steal them from Autolex!
Just PM me a price please. :) my zip is 63117 if it matters.
Wheel size/tire size appreciated.

Tires are 205/50/15. I'm not sure on the wheel width, they came on the car and I haven't had time pull one to look (not marked on the outside).
based on the Tire Specs (and it not really looking stretched) these look like 7"-7.5" width.
Any idea what you want for them? will you ship?

$400 plus whatever the shipping charges are. Figure wheels new are ($129-149 depending on size) and the tires are $96 new, minus a bit on both ends for used nature.
Can you measure the width? I think i'm interested if they're 7.5" or 8"... Going to have to pass if they're a 7"

Tried measuring but got inconclusive results (possibly 8" or 9"???), if you don't mind waiting until Thurs/Friday I'll pull one off and measure for sure.

Either way, one of us is interested. The 9 in wide usually is square with a 225/45-15 tire so I'm guessing you have 8 (or worst case, 7.5).

15x8 finally got around to getting the other tires on my VW wheels and pulled the 949 wheels from the Miata.

If the others are not interested in the wheels anymore, I'll take them.

I'm still interested in the wheels... PayPal in hand...
Let me know if you are not interested in selling the wheels and I'll look elsewhere.

I'm not a fan of shipping wheels, looks like it would be $225 for shipping to CO.

Yeowza! I'm not a fan of paying $225 just to ship wheels!
Thanks anyway!

Yeah, at about 35 pounds per wheel / tire combo packaged, UPS ground was at $225 from CT to CO.
No problem, that's why I like dealing local.
Can't believe this car hasn't sold
