First of all, about the owner. An adult BMW enthusiast, I have raced a vintage BMW for many years and I am beyond anal about keeping up with the maintenance on all my vehicles. The ONLY reason I am selling this car is I am in need of creating room for another race car in my garage. Yes, I know it is a sickness :-). This car has been garage kept for the 2 years that I have owned it as well as the 5 or so years the previous owner who had it. Who had it before is unknown but based on the overall condition I would bet it has been garaged it's whole life.
Overall this car is a 9/10, mechanically it is a 10/10. It drives like a 400hp BMW V8 should 14mpg city and 23mpg highway are easily achieved even when you stomp on it. Everything works as it should, oil changes are done by 5th Gear Automotive in Lewisville, TX every 5k without fail as well as any other repairs or maintenance. I have worked with this shop for over 10 years and they know how to maintain German cars. Always used the special 10-60 Moly oil specified for this motor. I cannot say enough about the power and flexibility of the 5.0 BMW V8. It is absolutely an incredible power plant. 6 speed manual shifts perfectly, all suspension is new or renewed including new Koni Yellow shocks last year. Diff works as it should, which is flawlessly. Interior is near perfect with two minor exceptions. The remote rear shade works but one of the arms needs rep are or replacement. I have never used it and doubt you will either. The other flaw is the rear view mirror is cloudy (but still functional) as is the drivers mirror. Easy fixes, I just haven't gotten around to it. Leather is exceptional as the pics show, the dash and vinyl areas and headliner are tear free. Carpet is excellent, glass excellent and everything works on the A/C after the temperature thermo was replaced last year. The stereo was replaced last year with a Kenwood touch screen that includes iPod and bluetooth phone. Sounds fantastic. All electronics work as they should. On the exterior the paint is really good, 9/10 with no major chips and no dents. The wheels are nice with minimal marking and new Conti DW tires. Brakes are excellent and at least at half life. The only flaw in the body is the rear bumper cover has a crack in the plastic which can barely be seen from a foot or two away. I wouldn't fix it and don't know what caused it but it is not under stress and won't get worse.
Now for the sale. I am a car collector, primarily race cars but I love a good swap so I am open to a partial trade. It will have to include at least 10-12k in cash plus your trade but I am open to ideas. I have offered a best offer option here but this car is worth the asking price, it needs nothing significant. I see other M5's of similar vintage on here but most have questionable titles, or have many unknowns. If you have any questions or want to have the car inspected that would be OK, lets arrange it. You will not be unhappy with this car. As I said in the beginning, I hate to sell this car it is a beast with manners. Best sedan I have ever owned by far. Title is in hand and clear. email vintageracer53@gmail.com for more details. Car is in TX.
