I know a guy looking for a well running Boxster S. He wants to swap most of it into his 75 Merak. I belive his budget is 8k or so. Do you know of any?

This 1997 with the 3.4L if it hasn't sold already.  http://986forum.com/forums/boxsters-cayman-cars-sale-wanted/83714-selling-986-boxster-3-4-engine-swap.html

Not an S, but 996 engine "Recently overhauled the engine and replaced the IMS bearing".

Burning Man is next week and tickets are basically free at this point.

If any of y'inz want to get weird in the desert with a E36 M3ty boxter and 70,000 new best friends shoot me a line...

EDIT: Don't do this. It's a horrible idea even by our standards.

Oh I forgot he's not using the engine. He's got a maserati v8 but he wants to use the boxstervs trans suspension etc.

A 2.7L will run fine on a 3.2L DME. The intake/MAF and fuel system is the same. It will quickly adapt to the engine difference.

I bought a 2000 Boxster S once that had a 2.5L (1997) engine in it. Still a fun car to drive.

I'd give the engine a good check again for the oil cooler o-rings, but expect it to be a waste of time.

I'm pulling a 3.2L engine with suspected rod bearing material in the oil and would be willing to send it or parts of it to anyone on GRM if we can work out shipping.

Well this isn't making it any easier for me to not call! 2.7L swap as a backup plan sounds pretty good.

Looking at the post history on the 986 forum it sounds like theres been a fair amount of effort into flushing already and the car has likely been sitting a while.

Well I called and am seriously considering it. Sounds like the car may need more than I'd like to put into it to make it a nice street car but may have potential for the track or as a canyon carver.

I think the price is right considering parts value but I have no interest in parting something out should it come to that. I really don't need this but that hasn't seemed to stop me before laugh

If it had been within 1000 miles of me I would have it on my trailer already.
