Asking $7950/best offer. Moving to a smaller shop in Feb. so would really like it gone by then.
So a real S/R? Very cool.

Sounds like a blast to drive. And I love the yellow.

Its a real one but truthfully after race prepping it I don't think it matters!
One day, mark my words, someone will return it to stock for Pebble Beach. (“Former race car restored to its original, limited-edition configuration.”)
OK, for those of us that don't speak Ford Focus, what's so special about the S/R designation? I guess I could google it, but would rather hear what makes it special from a real knowledgeable source.

I Googled it myself.
Ford's engineers worked with the aftermarket on the S/R package, which includes tuned, progressive-rate Eibach springs, Tokico struts, Energy Suspension anti-roll bar bushings, Goodyear Eagle F1 P205/55ZR15 tires, B&M Pro-Edge shifter, Borla muffler, Roush intake system, and Centerforce Dual Friction clutch and pressure plate. These parts, in conjunction with a recalibrated computer system, help boost the S/R's horsepower by 10 percent over stock. Besides improving handling (a substantial 0.08g improvement on the skidpad over a stock Esquort), the Eibach springs lower the car 1 inch, compared to stock, giving the car a racier look.
I'm cut and pasting from a website called Ford Econoboxfocus.com:
"Ford introduced the limited production ZX2 S/R package. This consists of a revised intake and exhaust, reprogrammed engine computer, lowering springs and performance struts, rear disc brakes, and a performance clutch and pressure plate. Other interior goodies such as a leather shifter boot and silver gauge faces round out the interior. P205/55ZR15 tires on custom wheels finish the S/R package"
And of course, the obligatory decals. They only came in yellow and then some black or red ones. There were, I believe, only a few thousand built but I don't know the exact number.
The only things that came on the S/R package still on the race car are the intake, rear discs and clutch. Otherwise everything is upgraded as per normal practice.
OK, so who changed the title of this thread????

Layman's answer...
During the Import Tuner craze, Ford tried to "me too" the Esc0rt by offering a car already "tuned" with name brand "aftermarket" parts added at the factory.

There was a time when the board was over run with spam offering "friendship for a price" specifically the word Esc0rt. So a filter was added to change that word to Ford Econobox.
Your title got caught by that filter but I changed it using the zero in place of the letter o
Yeah, thanks, John.
And, yep, the S/R was Ford’s attempt to ride that import tuner wave–see also cars like the Mazdaspeed Protege. (I’m not putting the Integra Type R in that class, though, because it was so special from the tub up.)
The only thing that keeps the prices on these little rocketships down is the Ford logo and the "beauty" (or lackthereof) of them. Very reliable with stock or slightly over stock power.
They're a mazda BG chassis and they're incredibly fun to drive. One of the non-SR, non caged cars ran away with many of the SundaeCup gridlife records. Slippery little chassis - they're great race cars. Here's mine which was a "body on white" SSC car back from the neon vs everything days.

Which car is yours? I can't tell the difference.
(BTW, I assume Barber)
