I have no personal knowledge of the car. But I figured if anyone was looking for a C5 Z06 he's trying to get rid of his.

Looks like a fair price with the salvage title and being the slightly less desirable 2001. I'm not a fan of the red interior and would want an unmodified car myself (to run A-Street in autocross), but I'm inching closer to pissing off SWMBO and getting one of these, so it caught my eye.
Ohhh. That would make a fun toy. Can anyone elaborate on why the 01 is less desirable?

The 01 is rated at 385hp. Starting with the 2002 model year, power was increased to 405 hp (411 PS; 302 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 400 lb⋅ft (542 N⋅m) of torque at 4,800 rpm, due to a larger cubic feet per minute air intake, stiffer valve springs, lighter sodium filled valves and more aggressive camshaft lift and timing.
Hence the lower value/asking price on the 01. They have always been a decent chunk cheaper than the 405hp Z06.
