103k miles, everything stock, perfect mechanical condition, above average cosmetic condition. Has the factory optional rear spoiler. Excellent interior, passenger seat looks almost new, driver's seat has typical bolster wear but leather is in good shape with no holes/tears/abrasion and only minimal creasing. Stone chips and cone marks are evident on the front bumper and it has some typical dings, but the car looks great in pictures and fantastic underneath. I will be doing my best to get rid of the cone marks and giving the front end a dr. colorchip treatment, so it will probably look pretty good when it moves on to the new owner. It was a VA car until 2010, and has never seen salt, I always put it in the garage after the last autocross every season (end of October) and bring it out a couple weeks before the beginning of the autocross season (mid-april)

Recent maintenance:

Modifry top retractor straps

serpentine belt tensioner and belt

Oil change w/Honda filter and Rotella T6 Synthetic

Front and rear brake pads, new caliper slides and bushings in rear.

Passenger side motor mount (I bought 2, was going to do both but driver side sees less stress and looked fine, could replace driver side before sale if desired)

Fresh Honda MTL in the trans in May

Redline severe gear 75W-110 in the diff about 10k miles ago.

Windshield replaced 08/11, it wasn't broken, just a couple chips and a lot of pitting (common on these as the windshield is pretty upright).

Valve spring retainers replaced and close tolerance valve job performed by "billman250" from S2ki right after I got the car with 82k on the odo (look him up, he is acknowledged as the best guy on the east coast with these cars). He did the retainers purely as a preventative measure before I autocrossed the car because AP1 retainers are known to crack when overrevved. He also went over the rest of the car thoroughly at the time and proclaimed it in excellent condition for the year/mileage.

While I've owned it the car has had a Saner front swaybar, Koni/TCKline double adjustable shocks, a custom removable axle-back single exhaust, and a Chase Race trailer hitch. All of that has been removed to transfer to my new-to-me Ap2. The rear section of the exhaust is now removable with a v-band, so with a muffler, a v-band flange and some mandrel bends a new owner could duplicate my single setup pretty easily. With a Dynomax VT muffler it was quieter than stock in most circumstances.

I also have two sets of stock wheels, some ugly black ones with nearly dead Hankook RS3s, and a pretty nice set that came with the car that has BFG rivals with around 3/32 remaining. I might want to keep the ugly set for rollers for my AP2 if the new owner doesn't want them.

I have really enjoyed this car, and have preventatively replaced any mechanical parts that I even thought might need attention. It's a testament to the quality of the car that there have been very few of those. The only reason I have to sell it is to move into a newer, lower mileage version of the same chassis. I took some underbody pics when I was swapping out the suspension and I will post those here once I get them hosted. Seriously, this has been the best and cheapest to run car that I have ever owned. I'd be happy to keep it forever if I hadn't already given in to my desires and bought a newer, bluer one :).

GRM only no-negotiation price: 10k. I see these listed for 11-13 all the time, KBB is around 12,500 so I figure that's as fair as I can be without shortchanging myself.

You will kick yourself for not buying this car in a few years.

That's why I made sure I had another one first :). If I had more space I would be tempted to just keep it around, drive it a few hundred miles a year and watch it appreciate though.

Wanna trade for a BMW E36 IS race car with all the proper reinforcements in place, log book, one race weekend on it's history and a fresh head?

I'm just waiting on the head to come back from the machine shop to reassemble. (so... probably around thanksgiving the way my schedule works)

I just got rid of my E36!

Seriously though, If I was at a place in my life where I could consider going real racing that would be incredibly tempting. I need to force myself to focus on non-automotive projects right now though, hence street class autocross where I can just show up with a stockish car and not spend ALL my nights and weekends wrenching or working a second job to pay for consumables :).

Want badly, but I need to make a more sensible year-round vehicle choice and I would feel guilty having this exposed to salt.

I agree, this car is way too nice to put through a New England winter. If I still have it on November 1st I plan to put it in climate controlled indoor storage until spring and raise the price by the cost of the storage every month :). It will still be a great deal.

Not really interested in trades, space is an issue for me. I only have room for 2 cars long term, anything more has to sit at my parents house (and they don't have a ton of room either). The only trade I might consider would be a classic that is interesting to both me and my dad (Volvo Amazon, Falcon/Comet, Mini, Beetle, Microcars... our tastes converge in weird places) plus at least 6k cash (would like to pay off the Volvo). In other words, it would have to be a pretty compelling trade, for something my dad would want to keep at his house :).

Yours will probably sell faster than mine. Higher demand.

In reply to wearymicrobe:

It would probably be cheaper for you to put my car on a truck to CA than to buy one out there .

Still available, still haven't thrown it to the wolves on Craiglist (probably should soon).

I talked to a local place that does winter storage and is also a specialty car broker that takes consignments. I kind of figure if I am going to store it with them anyway, I might as well let them see if they can sell it. Basically the deal for me is, if they sell it the commission includes the cost of storage, but if I wanted to take the car back in the spring and sell it myself I'd have to pay the back storage fees. So it's kind of a can't lose for me to just let them try to sell it. Of course if I do that, the selling price would have to cover their commission, so I wouldn't be able to let it go quite as cheaply. If I keep it until spring I intend to raise the price to cover storage anyway though.

Still available, a board member was going to come up for it this week but had to pass for family reasons. Haven't pulled the trigger to consign or store it yet, but will probably have to soon.

One last bump before I put it away for winter and the price goes up next spring (it has actually been resting in my garage for a couple weeks, but I need to clear it out so I can put the AP2 in its winter home).

Hi. Still up for grabs? I'm in Seattle and am interested in an S2k as a track car again. I supercharged my last S2K and still haven't found anything as fantastic so most likely will do it again.

Yeah, still for sale but I am sort of a long way from you. Not that a cross country road trip in it would be a bad time :).

On December 25, 2003, I landed at LAX and picked up a brand-new S2000. I pointed it east and drove it back to Florida.
