I picked up this WRX to use as a donor for schennigans and possibly a Brat conversion and have ran out of the need for it.
Basics:
2002 WRX 5-speed, 220,500 miles, Illinois year round use car.
The good:
It's a cheap WRX.
Comes with timing set, water pump, head gaskets, head bolts, and a good set of heads to repair bad exhaust valve.
Clean title no Bill of sale only shenanigans here.
Overall body condition is pretty okay other then where rusted. No huge dents, a few small scratches and a small crease in the front fender (Other then the rust obviously)
Interior is not bad at all.
It's all there.
100% stock. Was just someones car. It was dealer serviced until traded in when the exhaust valve went bad. No modifications that I have found.
The Bad:
Bad exhaust valve. Car runs, drives, stops, but I would not drive it far.
High mileage
No good tires. Comes with OEM wheels and I can include a set of 17x7 Toyota wheels that have tires with treads on them but very old.
It's Crusty. I'm not going to sugar coat it. It's not great underneath. It was used year round in Illinois. The sills are kinda missing and there is some through rust on the rear frame rails above the subframe. Also the quarters have some holes. I will check the front and rear strut towers tonight to ensure they are not basically missing. I had looked a while ago and they seemed okay but I will give them a good poke around before someone makes the commitment to come see it/buy it.
Also both front lower arms need replaced. Not like.. NOW.. but before substantial driving is undertaken.
This would make a good Rallycross beater, kids first car, winter beater, or Challenge car, or donor for a GC8 WRX swap, or 818 kit. This is not an excellent repair and make it your enthusiast WRX. Sill covers are intact and in the car.
I would just like to get out of it what I have into the car+repair parts. I don't have a ton of wiggle room on price as the car is probably worth more in pieces then whole. Which is likely what will happen to it if it is still here after UTCC.
