I have a 2003 Suburban 2500 that I bought for towing and then a good friend of mine went and got a 6.4L Powerstroke making my gas hog obsolete. I listed it before and overshot what it seems to be worth to you guys and the public at large think they are worth. No biggie. After some thought. I would like to see her go to a good home (you guys) for a little less money than deal with CL again. Here are the details

237K ish miles (I would have to check the truck for specifics)

4wd that works great

Just pasted Missouri inspection

Leather interior that was smoked in but I have since done everything in my power to remove the smell, last thing it needs is a different headliner (which is falling at the front)

Body isn't perfect or rust free, rockers could use some attention but it isn't the worst GMT800 I have seen in Missouri by any means

Very reliable. Since my ownership (1.5 years) it has never had any issue but has had basically all the maintenance this motor could ever need. All fluids have been done in the last 3k miles (Trans and diff too). Comes with a new water pump but the old one still works fine so I just kept it in the truck on trips. Tires are newish (less than 5k miles), nothing special but decent all around tires.

Mileage sucks

My bottom dollar is $4k. That is literally the lowest I will take as it is worth 4k to me for the occasional winter use and when I want to tow something a short distance and not bother my buddy or dad. I want it to get used and have a purpose so someone please take this loved (but ugly) beast home.

Trades accepted but I am gonna need something cool here, or really practical.

Wow. That is cheap! Already own a 1500 4x4 Sub and a F250 crew 7.3 diesel so I'm not in the picture but best of luck. New owner will be getting a really good deal.

Yep, I will likely put it on CL at $4500 if no one here if interested.

Want, and will need a tow vehicle semi-soon, but you're early. Check again in September?

Will you take $2000 for it?

(In case you were feeling nostalgic for a CL response)

I am not in a huge hurry (contrary to my bump ) and it might be around then.

Just out of curiosity. What sort of mileage do you get out of this behemoth?

My current tow pig is a '99 suburban with the 5.7 and not towing but loaded with kids and stuff for trips I get around 16-17 highway. I like the idea of the extra capacity to tow with the 3/4 ton but if cruising mileage is 10 I don't think I could afford the hit to vacation funds.

Figures its in Missouri. Its exactly what I was looking for. it's even black. and an 8.1. How close are you to an airport?

In reply to KyAllroad:

Driving at reasonable speeds (70 mph) I managed to get 14 mostly unloaded. I don't think interior load would matter much as this thing makes something like 450 ft lbs of torque. Dragging a 31' Air stream it managed over 10 mpgs going up 7,000 ft elevation from here to northern Colorado last year. That was at 65 mph though. Bumping it up to 75 mph dropped it to 9 mpgs even.

Major airport is about 2 hours. There is a local airport but you are going to pay to come in there. I can pick you up for a tank of gas (in a 2010 Saab 9-3) from St Louis Airport on a Saturday.

Still up for grabs. Had some interested but no takers yet. Probably putting it on Craigslist soon.

If I were you I might try ebay. When I was looking at the 3/4 ton 4wd 8.1 burbs they were selling really well on ebay.

I might try that but there is a lower optioned (but way less miles and in better shape) on ebay asking 4400 right now. Looks like I might just keep the big block and part the body out.

It would be a shame to part it out, but I wouldn't blame you. It is tempting, hard to find one like that here in Atlanta for that price. It would pull my trailer quite well. Need to do some thinking... would need to sell my 79 GMC Dually if I did. Edit: PM sent as well.

Yep, I'm the lucky winner. Going to do my first fly 'n drive road trip.

I just realized that when I get it home, I will have three trucks in my stable. Anyone want a Dually? It will be up for sale soon.

If its the one in your garage on here, lots of people will want it.

It is the one in my garage. It will go up for sale after this weekend most likely.

Awesome! You got a bangin' deal. Hell, I'm not sure I'd let my 1500 go that cheap.
