Full disclosure; I bought this from Fidelity101 this past winter, so I haven't owned it that long. His ad can be found here: https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/open-classifieds/fs-2004-mazda6-wagon-manual-transmission-5500/110954/page1/
In the time that I've owned it I have:
-Replaced starter (misdiagnosed failure to start and then didn't want to go back and pull the new one out)
-Replaced battery (actual cause of failure to start)
-Wired an aux input to the factory radio
-Replaced all 4 front lower control arms
-Got a set of Mazdaspeed6 wheels with "performance all season" tires. (factory wheels with blizzaks included)
Known faults:
-Very slow power steering leak
-Full size spare taking the place of a donut in the spare tire well, so the load floor doesn't sit as flat as it should
-Couple of dings as you'd expect from a 12 year old car, but virtually no rust
This has been a great daily (as I'm sure some of you can attest to if you've had one). Unfortunately, my automotive ADD is setting in pretty hard and I've decided to get a less practical daily while I'm single and won't get hassled for it. I'm still daily driving it so the mileage will creep up a bit (at 120,000 now)

Is there any rust starting around the rear wheel wells? Has it been in MI all its life?
Very nice. I loved my 4cyl hatch, a 6cyl wagon is high on my want list.

Pappatho, I replied to your email yesterday, let me know if it didn't go through. As far as the wheel wells, this picture shows the worst of it. This is the leading edge of the drivers side rear wheel well.
I appreciate the well wishes.
Forgot to put this in the original post, but a coworker had access to autocheck reports while he was doing some car shopping a couple months back, so I ran one on the Wagon just because I was curious. I'm not sure how to attach the whole document, so here's a screen grab of the title page to show that it hasn't been in any accidents. I can email the full document if someone is interested.
The recall notice is for the Takata airbag issue. I have the paper saying I need to take it in and have it replaced, I just haven't had the time to do it yet. I might try to find the time to do it next week.
First owner was in Wisconsin, second owner was in northern Illinois, and it has been in Michigan since 2013. I was actually surprised to find that it wasn't a southern car originally when I first saw this because of how little rust it has.
So what is the real world MPG?
Actually just sold the car about 20 minutes ago and was coming to update, but real world MPG was somewhere in the low to mid 20's depending on how/where you drove it
Thanks for the knowledge.
