I'm considering moving on from my beloved NC project because I have limited space out here and I'm finally in a financial situation where I can consider something closer to dream car status. I'm going into this knowing that I will probably regret selling it in the future if I do sell it, because it's (IMO) the best NC color, it is bulletproof reliable, easy to drive on track, and also a pretty great street car.

2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata in Winning Blue Metallic (2006-only color)

  • Grand Touring trim, 6-speed manual, Suspension Package, Premium Package, no TPMS (was only on some cars in 2006)
  • ~135k miles, clean Carfax with no reported accidents or anything else sketchy (happy to provide on request)
  • 5 previous owners, 4 in California, 1 in Oregon
  • Zero rust anywhere, never exposed to snow or salt
  • No fluid leaks or consumption of any kind
  • Passes CA smog with flying colors every year
  • Extremely rare OE Mazda color-matched hardtop with headliner, defrost, etc. (currently hard mounted with Blackbird brackets but stock hardware is included)

Performance mods/upgrades:

  • Blackbird Fabworx RZ roll bar (SCCA and NASA legal, preserves use of soft top)
  • Flyin Miata Koni Stage 2 suspension (Koni Sport shocks, FM springs, FM sway bars)
  • Rasporki ladder-style cowl/strut brace
  • RoadsterSport Super-Q axle-back exhaust with removable baffles
  • Enkei PF09 17x7.5 wheels w/Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 215/45-17 tires
  • Hawk Talon rotors w/Porterfield R4S brake pads
  • Koyo 36mm HyperCore all-aluminum radiator
  • Moroso aluminum coolant expansion tank and power steering reservoir
  • 2008+ oil cooler/heat exchanger retrofit
  • Track Dog Racing "Super Cool" battery relocation with NA/NB battery, kill switch and washer bottle relocation
  • MiataCage power steering flow reducer bushing
  • ECUTek tuning suite with current 91 octane track tune by Mike at Xero-Limit
  • Black Halo Racing reinforced RX-8 clutch pedal

Other mods/upgrades:

  • Reupholstered seats with dove grey perforated leather and inflatable lumbar support added to driver's seat (substantially better than stock seats)
  • Sony XAV-AX1000 Apple Carplay head unit with Clearwater Bose replacement speakers
  • Jass Performance 2.5" seat lowering brackets on driver's seat (reversible, stock brackets included)
  • Supermiata billet 2" steering wheel spacer (reversible, just remove the spacer if desired)
  • Black/grey pattern Cocomat floor mats
  • Reupholstered black leather steering wheel
  • Weighted ND shift knob
  • Black canvas soft top replaced in 2021
  • NC2/3 center console conversion (gives you better storage space and a padded arm rest)
  • Relay mod to allow fog lights as DRLs (can still turn on/off from fog light switch)

The only problems with this car are cosmetic. The headlights are a bit hazy from UV exposure, I have given them a quick polish which helped but really the bumper should be removed and they should be fully refinished/coated. It has a couple minor dings and dents. The clear coat is pitting on the hood, and there is some minor clear coat fade on the hood, fenders, and doors that is noticeable in certain lighting. A really good detail with a heavy cut compound might take care of it all.

I have $15k into the hardtop and mods/upgrades alone not even including the value of the car, so that is what I am asking and I think that is pretty fair.

I'm doing this kind of reluctantly so for now here are a couple pics I already have, I intend to take more thorough pics soon.

You are correct that Winning Blue is the best NC color, and I don't think I've ever seen one with a removable hardtop. That's a great looking car.

Nice looking car.  GLWS - you didn't mention "no low ballers" cause we're out here waiting to low ball.

Thanks all. If anyone is allowed to lowball it's this crowd, but I'm also not really in a hurry to get rid of it and don't really want to in the first place, so the price is firm for now. Depending on how things shake out I could end up keeping it, but who knows. I just think a Porsche would look real nice in the parking spot it occupies right about now, and for the first time in my life I could actually act on that impulse. Y'all know how it goes.

I did just edit the first post to add some crucial details I initially missed; it's a Grand Touring with the 6-speed manual and both the Suspension and Premium packages (though the Suspension Package is meaningless at this point because it sucked from the factory and was all replaced with FM parts).

Should also add that I am 6'3" with a 34" inseam and I pass the broomstick test with a helmet on, the Jass seat brackets and Supermiata wheel spacer make it a relatively comfy place to be even if you are vertically oversupplied as I am, but that stuff can be taken out if you are of a more average height.

I'd be interested if you do decide to move on with it.  I'm casually looking around for something to use for novice/intermidiate HPDE's that will help me build up my skills and this looks good for that use case.

In reply to Don Fip :

Feel free to send me a PM and we can talk. I didn't put it up for sale with the intention of not selling it, I just kinda know that I'm gonna miss this one so it's only listed here and I'm not receptive to being jacked around on the price and all the normal headaches you deal with when selling a car.
