I've come to realize that this project is over my head. I have $1500 plus 7 hours of towing expense in the car. I'd be thrilled to get $1500 for it.
2006 V50 T5 AWD - 6 speed manual transmission. I've been in contact with the original owner, who owned it from new to 166k miles, which is where it is now. Evidently the timing belt went and he decided not to repair it. That said, the car seems to have enjoyed regular maintenance. It has what appear to be brand new brakes on it as well as nice Michelin all-seasons. From what the local Volvo indie shop tells me, a reconditioned head would likely get the car back on the road.
Anybody selling a car at the Challenge want to pick this up for me?

Here in this thread are the details of a shipper, based out of Jacksonville (close to Gainesville) that I have used in the past.
He shipped for me from Ohio to Illinois but I have had similar shippers bring me cars from Jacksonville to Ohio for $500. You might want to contact this guy directly and see if he could do $500.
