Want to throw this out there, it's taking up space in my shop and I can't seem to find the time to put an eBay ad together.
2007 BMW 335i sedan, manual, project car but not far from daily driver status. Got the wife a new car before winter with the idea I'd turn this in to my project car. 6 or so months later and haven't moved on it, so time to go.
Body - Silver, pretty decent, couple dings and marks here and there. Main issue was at one point the bumpers and trunk were repainted - poorly. There is crazing. The paint on the main body appears to be all original BMW. My plan was to upgrade to carbon trunk lid and different bumpers anyway so I never fixed it. Average wear and tear.
Interior - Black, pretty decent, but I haven't cleaned it. I didn't drive it much but I *think* everything works and no major issues. Believe there is a bit of wear on the seat bolsters and the right door pull is "gooey" but I have a new replacement.
Engine - Two issues that I know of, fairly good oil leak which appears to be coming from the oil filter housing (common problem), coolant leak (pretty heavy) coming from the water pump. As far as I know the turbo, injectors, etc. are original. We bought the car with 92k miles and I never walnut blasted the valves... I'm sure it needs it. After sitting awhile it blows a little oil at startup, but from what I can tell the only oil it uses, it leaks. I did replace the plugs and coil packs some time ago with OEM.
Drivetrain - So far as I know no issues.
Suspension - I'd say needs a total go-through. It just does not drive well. Part of the problem is I think it is either on or nearly on the bump stops. The guy before cut the springs. I put on Koni yellows on front, never got around to putting on the rears. In any case it might just need bushings, springs, and that's it. Just never got around to it.
Brakes - Sort of functional. Surface rust on brake rotors. Pads look like they were "the good ones" from O'Reilly. Who puts parts from O'Reilly on a BMW???
Wheels - Has some ugly, heavy aftermarket rims on it now with snow tires. Also have a set of 5 spoke 18" factory rims (shown in the pic) - decent front tires, rears need replaced. Wheels are only in fair condition.
Parts - Large number of uninstalled, new OEM or better parts. I have a spreadsheet of everything but here are some highlights:
- Full set of Weathertech winter floormats ($130)
- Fuel filter / regulator / pump ($190)
- Oil catch can with hoses ($200)
- New valve cover (no PCV.. oil passages get gunked up.. solution is to buy new cover and catch can) ($385)
- Engine mounts ($130)
- Belts and pullies
- Belly pan and hardware ($100)
- Shifter bushings
- Transmission mounts
- Stainless brake lines ($105)
- Rear Koni yellows ($260)
- Bentley service manual ($120)
- Lots of euro fluids (Petosin, Motul, etc.)
With other stuff, about $2,500 in new, uninstalled parts from BMW, ECS Tuning, Turner Motorsport.
Hope the pics aren't too large... If they are will have to figure it out tomorrow. ALSO - IT WILL NEED TRAILERED. Unless you want to attempt a water pump change in the Walmart parking lot..
