I have for sale myfrankenburban 2.0; 2008 Chevy suburban HD 2500 LS trim for sale, it is 4WD with the factory 6 speed automatic (6L90E). I am the 3rd owner there are no accidents/clean carfax green title in hand. Current y the truck has 90,500 miles on it. 4WD
Originally this truck was equipped with a 6.0 LY6 but it failed around 57k miles, I swapped in an 8.1L wrecked truck and drove it around for a few years, then earlier this year the engine failed and July I swapped in a 64k mile 8.1L engine (have paperwork) engine comes $2000 guarantee on it that expires 12/1/2020 - tires are BFG K02 and have 60% tread life left w/ TPMS. I also have a set of blizzaks on the same style of wheels that have been powdercoated that are included.
Stock 8.1L swap, no modifications - runs good, oil pressure meets spec but not great, body is clean with a few dents and scratches and underneath only has minor surface rust. Brakes and Bilstein suspension are in great shape, this is not a 1500 chassis this a true suburban HD, this is NOT the allison transmission. They don't fit under the suburban bodies. Has G80 rear locker.
no trades, duramax swapped suburbans go for 30K+ this is a better alternative to the small block for a better price that can buy a lot of gas. I also have a few spare parts that will be included, extra AC compressor and a ported intake manifold with 4" intake tubing.

UPDATE 8/28
went to charge the AC system and it ruptured the rear line shortly after the service was complete so now the AC no longer works, needs a rear AC line. Oil pressure is poor ~10PSI warm I have stopped driving it, its now in covered storage.
9,000 OBO - spare parts and winter wheels/tires INCLUDED
New truck is gonna take up to 8 weeks to arrive so the clock is ticking otherwise its getting buried in the dealer.
can the mods also update the title page price? 12k is not replicable of this vehicle anymore...
Goodness this seems awesome!
Engine has low oil pressure? Does the $2000 guarantee that expires in December not apply to low oil pressure?
In reply to yupididit :
correct its low.. The guarantee expires at the end of 2020, 6 mo guarantee started 7/1/2020; so if you return the engine to the junkyard they will give you $2k - they don't have any more 8.1s but they may have some 6.0s
Runs quiet now, not sure if it just needs an oil pump or may need to be overhauled.
The 2003 8.1 burb I had had low oil pressure at idle when warm, 8-10 psi maybe, but not low enough to trigger a warning. I found using 15W-40 diesel oil helped a bit. Towed a 28ft enclosed with it, never had an oil issue. Current owners are still towing with it. Does the oil pressure come up with rpms? Mine made valvetrain noise at idle. I sometimes wonder if the gauge is just not accurate.
The 8.1 does use a more traditional oil pump like the previous big block Chevys, so you could drop the oil pan and replace it to see if that helps. I didn't get around to it, mainly due to the 4x4 stuff in the way.
this is 15w-40 at 10psi. The oil pressure does increase with RPM, max pressure I've seen is about 45-50psi. I checked with a mechanical gauge and it reflects the gauge in the car.
You can do a pan job in the truck (ive done a pan gasket job before on this) and you don't have to remove the front diff you just have to loosen some of the bolts/nuts to it and its all accessible.

New truck has delivery date at the end of October.
can't go any lower because the dealer is giving me 8 on trade in, but I will toss my spare parts and performance parts in for free.

That's a great truck for 8! I'm not in the market, but it's a truck I would like if I was.
It the dealer is offering 8 for trade in, at price y'all agreed too, he would come down another 3-4 with a cash, no trade offer. Maybe considerably more. A lot of folks pay dealers to take their old cars from them... Even when the paper says they are getting xXxX for it!

Looks super clean - I'd try the oil weight change and see if that bumps it up. Oil pumps are cheap despite not being fun to get to.
Honestly, if the oil pressure comes up with rpms, to 45-50 psi, I wouldn't even worry about it. Mine was like that, still is going with current owners. If it had 20 psi running down the highway, that would be more of a concern.
just sold it! New ram is scheduled to arrive around nearly November it looks like.
But I do have the blizzak wheels/tires still so I'll toss those up when we get closer to first snow.
edit: they sold in 2 hrs...
I'm almost glad to hear that. The thought of driving a vehicle with sketchy oil pressure would bother me the whole trip.
