'64 Mercury Monterey, $1400, NMNA

I've seen that car listed more than once also and every time I think of the rust that's hidden. You'd spend years repairing rust only to have a car that isn't worth much even if it was nice.

I was more thinking some sort of Roadkill style build.  Just a massive sled to pilot around

It looks like a the breezeway back window. 

It runs, but doesn't have a carburetor. How does that work?

Looking at the roof rust it is almost a ragtop conversion.

As a road kill style or nascar build  it would be cool but there are a lot of Mercury only parts when it comes to the body and interior which are not available new/aftermarket but the rest is shared with the ford galaxy. I sold my 62 Monterey last year in similar shape for less then a grand. 

I called.  The carb was stolen while in the parking lot.  Seller is a flipper sending stuff overseas, he bought this from south Miami area and dropped to $1200 right off, the purchaser bailed on it.  I tried to get him lower and had concerns about shipping he can do that.  He sends stuff all over the country, used to live in Brooklyn so knows where I am.

I really want this, but looking at the budget, skillz and ambition quotient of the problem, it may be a bad idea. 

(experience shows I'm used to that).

It must be real bad if a flipper went that low!
