You can pick up early 2.5 manuals for that money, that's pretty much going rate.
Better off with the later 2.7 cars. Better reliability. Just like the 996/2, there is a noticable gap between the 2. Now, as for price, you should be able to get a 100k+ Boxster for 10k or less. And hte more miles the better. The m96 loves miles.
