Is $27.5K good for a "project" E-Type with a clear title these days? Looks like it needs a little bit of everything, but if the undercarriage isn't too rusty...

That there is a serious commitment.

IF the tub is solid, it is worth more than asking.

The tall greenhouse 2+2 model is not the most desirable of the breed.

Someone here needs to buy it and do a build thread so that I can decide if I want to take on an E-type resto project or run away like a scared girl.

I see a modern Jag parked outside and another E-type on a lift inside the building.  Plus this E-type is on a lift.  I'm guessing it is at a specialist shop and it's deemed not worth it to deal with.   Seems like real potential for a money pit.

I would almost prefer that a specialist has looked at it and decided it's not worth restoring given what I would want to do with it.  I know the series 3 cars aren't as well loved with their 10" longer wheelbase then the S1/S2 cars 96" wheelbase.

BTW did you guys know a C6 Wheelbase is 105.6" totally unrelated fact that just came to mind.

Right, I'm just commenting on the asking price and why it might be out of line with actual condition + situation with these cars.

EDIT:  Hell, if you can get the price where you want and don't like that dorky greenhouse, this could be a perfect candidate for a chopped top E-type.

If I could get my hands on a complete body that held even the shape of an e-type, I think I would like to build some kind of Dr Demento rat rod with an Ls and too-big of a tire at each corner. ALL of the jaguar mechanical and suspension would go away. I would paint it with a mop, literally.

If I could get my hands on one..  You know those crazy over the top RWB flared 911s..

I've not thought about this before..  At all..

Forgive the crudeness of the model.  I got to there and couldn't bring myself to continue.  The idea already was to infectious.  Detailing it out and making it look better would of put me in a dark place since I am unable to make it happen.

I've recently seen a project (maybe better) struggling to sell at $15k. The pricing curve is now downward on most cars compared to recent years, especially high cost projects like these.

With the ridiculous pricing for bodywork, paint and mechanics, along with the crappy results that seem to.come out, it's likely not enough margine. Restoration shops used to take pride, but all I've seen lately is work that I'd ve embarrassed by, unfortunately.
