if you love VW, then this is your ride
My next door neighbor's son had one when I was a kid growing up. He was always outside working on it. Taking things apart and putting it back together. Wasn't broken or anything. He just really like to redo or rebuild things himself. Craziest thing though is he painted it a new color every year like clockwork. Never saw that car again after I moved out of state.
hahaha. yea, i was gonna post the Rolls... but...
didn't know how popular the Rolls is in this racer corner of the internet...

As non rust bucket as that is, it will sell for WAY more than challenge price, me thinks.
I did always like the look.
Only old V Dub. I owned was a squareback... I'd get another, were they affordable. Have a few water cooled thoughts!

If I understand the site, and that's a big if... I hate online auctions... the auction hasn't started yet.
It's not a disastrous rust bucket that you might see of that age in Wisconsin or Michigan, but as someone that owned a blue 72 Ghia, I will bet that car leaks at least twenty gallons per minute through holes in the floor pan after media blasting. A good chance the passenger side A-pillar is nearly rusted through.
If I was in the market for one, I would not consider bidding on one without seeing detailed photos of the inside of the nose (so many are loaded with filler) the fuse block, and chassis vin tag matching the one in the window. While not in the class of a early 60's 23 window bus, the most valuable part of this specific example might be the VIN plates.
