The Durangos had the whole rear drop down. I used the rear 1' of a station wagon so it has a drop down tailgate with the taillights and bumper staying in place. By the way, I am a pro ( 40 years of paint, body and fabricating).
the shape of the b-pillar on the cars always begged for this to be done. I like it.
Awesome in a very weird sort of way. I love that in the first pic it's in the middle of the woods.

This taking up space I need. Someone must want to drive this home! Make me an offer I can't refuse. Will consider a trade for a 3/4 ton pickup suitable for towing a 24' enclosed trailer.

iadr,
To lengthen the wheelbase would have been more than just a bit as this is a unibody. It functions just fine as it is. The extra length is 12" of the rear from a station wagon to give it a factory appearing tailgate and not require the entire rear to fold down like they did with the Durango.
