I think it's gas with K-Jet fuel injection.
Yup. 89 got the digifant fuel injection.
I miss my mk2 GTI and GLI these days.
Not K-jet, it is Digifant from the photos. This is a good thing.
Being from the Volvo world, I see pipes to injectors and I think K-Jet if it doesn't otherwise look like a diesel.

The injectors are entirely hidden in the engine photo. Those must be the spark plug wires you see.
