Had to look that one up. Thanks. I do have one of my hillbilly pals that's originally from the NY side of the line. Conklin ain't too far from there. If I find someone to check it out for me, I can probably talk him into a road trip!
Title complications?
When buying used cars my buddy always asked to see the title first. Maybe try to head up those issues first?

IF (and that's a big if) he acknowledges the difference between a salvage title, and an actual reconstructed title, it would not be a problem, in most stated. It is possible NY is not one of those, so the story is at least plausible enough for me to check out.
A reconstruction title does hurt resale, but I'm not looking for a car to flip; just a beater.
Anyone know someone up that way could put eyes on it for me?
