Cool.
I find the factory AM only radio to be humorous.
Also, though listed as a 4 speed, like the knob shows these were 3 speeds with a "stump puller" low gear.
That is one of the last ones available with a manual. Good old SM465 4-speed, very tough transmission. Yes it is a 4-speed, even with the granny gear. You just normally drive it as a 3-speed, unless pulling a trailer.

They put it in teeny tiny print after the "Shipping" header. The Suburban is in Spokane, WA.

I missed that the radio was AM only. That is awesome. Surprised it has power locks. It's more like a time capsule from 1969 instead of 1989. Then again, this body style began in 1973...so, perhaps not so strange.
Ah, it used to be a prominent feature of the front page of the listing.
Shows how long its been since I've been on Ebay.
Thanks!

Holy crap, right by me.......
3400 rpm redline on the aftermarket tach? Being an old rotary guy, that’s about 1/3 of the way to redline!
My parents test drove an '89 just like this years ago, it was definitely one of the ones that got away. They both loved it, but they decided to build an addition on our house instead.

Its a 350 gas engine, no idea why its set there.
Description kinda lies since theres been 3 owners and not 2 and whatever accident it was in seemed pretty mild as it looks damn clean

WAG: Owner set as a shift point for fuel economy. Especially since it doesn't have a factory tach and GM saw fit to put the fuel gauge in its place - so you can really watch that needle move when you get on the throttle...
Reading the auction details, the seller seems like they are trying to get the least bids possible. Pay in person within 3 days. Contact immediately upon the auction end. No PayPal. I can understand the latter two to some extent, but the first requirement is somewhat limiting bidders to those fairly close to WA who can drop everything and pick it up.
Regardless, other than the cracked dash, it looks damn near perfect.
Autocheck shows three buyers, but the first one bought in 1996. But who owned it from 1989? So it had four owners, and does that include the person selling it? Are they all in the same family? I would rather see a Carfox instead of the autocheck.
A co-worker just showed me where the 1986 Mustang GT he sold years ago just passed through a well know auction company's sale with a clean carfax and way lower miles that it really had. The car was in great condition and whoever sold it lost his or her shirt on it. Car sold for $5000 with new paint, interior, tires, brake and paint.

Doesn't look like it's hurting him much. He has 27 bids and is over $8K on a 30 year old vehicle (with 4 days left)

That may not be a lie. He doesn't say 1 owner. He says 1 owner family. It's possible there were several owners in the same family.

Perhaps. But my guess is the reserve is substantially more than $8000. A Suburban in this condition is fairly rare even without the manual transmission.

No reserve auction. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't get above 10k tho.
Damnit. Missed that somehow.
I agree it'll sell for more than $10K, but I still think he'd get more if wasn't trying to be so rigid about the sale. Might turn off some potential bidders. Or maybe he's just trying to scare off non-serious buyers, which probably isn't a bad thing. Either way, it'll be interesting to see what such a unicorn sells for.

True, if so its an odd white lie though as well
