Between the rust, faded paint, shot interior and needing an engine, I see a grand. Certainly not 2500. FWIW, a replacement engine is tge way to go, unless you're lucky and the Block wasn't damaged.
Price isn't the worst. People freak out about bent valves but there not a big deal on 944's. I've replaced valves in these more times then I can remember and never had one with bottom end issue's. This could all be greatly reduced if people did a belt service every so often but...people were to cheap to do the service in the 80's when these's cars were new it only got worse with broke Porsche dreamers that bought these up forth or fifth hand.
