Haul that thing down to S FL and I'd bet you could sell it with enough profit for a weeks vacation. Buddy has one with a Continental.

It's a Continental O-470, as found in general aviation planes like the twin Cessna 310. It's an early carbureted model (the magneto is at the back instead of the middle and there's only 1) so it's an A or B most likely. Great motors!

Yep, looks like the same engine as in our Pawnee tow plane (ex-crop duster).

That's a north, or central fl boat. 
S. FL air "boats" were super wide surf boards, with a grass roll to the front, and a O-470 strapped to 'em!!!

But that was before Everglades National Park stole a lot of land, and kicked people off. 
 

Your point (and valuation) is spot on, though. 
A friend here in L. A. / panhandle bought two to make one nice wan from. Leftover parts boat he wants $5K for...
