It'll be interesting to see how much it sells for. Kinda surprised it isn't being sold at B-J next month.

Burt is unfortunately selling off a lot of his personal stuff to save getting his house repossessed.
It's in surprisingly ratty condition. Wonder if the winner will polish it up and try to flip it in Scottsdale?
The guys on the Trans Am country forums are going insane over this. It sucks that he has to do this, but I'm sure he will get really good money for it, though probably not enough to dig him out of the hole.
EDIT: Javelin is correct; the car is a bit ratty. It looks to be purely cosmetic stuff though. Nothing too hard to fix.

Again?
Says this car was used for promotional purposes. So it wasn't even in the movie?
Some things will be long remembered from my adolescent brain
I had no idea he had money issues. How does some one that successful run out of money?
In reply to Adrian_Thompson:
Common occurrence, the more money you make, the more you spend.
Also, you have fun with that "hot Sally Fields"
Burt's been having money problems for a while from what I recall. Seems raising horses on a ranch in FL is a great way to piss away and lot of money.
He was bankrupt once before. 'Round about the time Loni left him. I remember there was a hoo-hah about the fact he got to keep his huge house because of Florida homestead laws.
In reply to Basil Exposition:
I wish there had been more of a hoohah over a "get rich quick" trophy wife......because that's what 5 years of marriage then expecting $TEXAS looks like 20 years later.
Looks like it sold for $450k.

Ok, I'm going to preface this with a big AFAIK - but AS FAR AS I KNOW none of the actual Trans Am's used the original Smokey and the Bandit movie still exist. And if that is the case, then a documented long-time Burt Reynolds-owned publicity replica is about as good as it is going to get.
Considering how much money a really nice, original, low miles 77-79 "Y8x" Special Edition black & gold TA can go for with no provenance, I'm not at all surprised to see $450k for this car.
