This is mine. All mine.
This is a little like saying goodbye to an old friend. She's been iwith me longer than most of my kids have.
1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty extended cab with an 8' bed. It has a commercial style steel contractor's cap on it (negotiable). It was my daily driver for the past 15 years or so, until I was cut off 2 weeks ago and T-boned a car at 40 mph. Rust free.

The insurance company has totaled the truck. The truck runs fine.
The truck was totaled because of it's age, mileage, and air bag deployment.
It is still driveable. Nothing about the driveability was damaged. However, the panels are misaligned enough that the driver's door won't open.
It would still make a good tow pig (if you don't care about looks), or a great motor donor.
The big drawback... it has 570,000 miles on it. That's not a misprint. I drove it every day, and trusted it enough to put 1000 miles per week on it every week. I changed the oil religiously, and did the repairs necessary.
The trans was rebuilt last year, and new tires. Brakes and wheel bearings the year before. It's chipped, and has plenty of power.
If anyone is interested, I have more pics and details. If not, it's going to scrap. I need to make some decisions quickly to settle with insurance. Don't delay. I won't be buying it back from insurance unless someone here wants it.
I'm screwed on valuation because of the mileage. My loss. But she's been loyal and true, and faithfully performed for me for over 350,000 miles.
$1800

This is a misprint, sort of. You got your monies worth out of her and then some. But I agree it is hard to give up a vehicle that has been there and never let you down. So not a loss, but a big loss, depending.

I agree. The truck served me very well and owes me nothing. But it’s hard to convince an insurance company to consider putting a decent value on a high mileage vehicle regardless of what they are actually selling for.
There isn’t any way I could possibly replace it with a similar condition (high mileage well maintained) truck for what they will pay. I’d have to multiply it by 3 or 4X.
I have no complaints.
Where are you at now? This would be one heck of a deal for someone.

Note:
The driver’s door won’t currently open, but I think it could be massaged to do so.
Would a fly and drive be out of the question in your opinion? If it's fairly rust free, it doesn't seem like it would take much to be a nice tow rig or work truck. I am a bit interested, and probably have a few friends who would be too.

A fly and drive is possible. I’d drive it across the country without worry.

Which trans is in it?
It has the 4R100. It was completely rebuilt this past year at 551,000 miles.
The transmission is worth more than I am asking for the truck.

How's the rust situation?

Seriously... This truck has always been a southern truck. It is rust free.

That's SOUTHERN rust free, not NORTHERN "rust free" (when they mean you can't put your fist through any visible sheet metal, but perhaps the frame...)
In reply to SVreX :
In that case, my interest just went way up. What kind of timeline are we talking here?
How long do you have to buy it back?
How long do you estimate that paperwork would take till you could transfer it?

I need to communicate with the insurance company probably this coming week. I've never bought a truck back, so I don't know how long the paperwork takes.
I can store it for a pretty long time (a month or 2) if I have a firm deal. No rush.
I just don't want to tell the insurance company I'm buying it back, then have a buyer drop out on me and be stuck with it.
Sweet.
So, from what I can see it just needs a hood, fender, bumper, and headlight? How can I not want this?

There were 2 issues I needed to deal with prior to the wreck:
- Top end oil leaks. Typical to the 7.3L. The oil leaks at the top end, fills the valley in the center of the heads, and drips down the back of the engine. Turbo pedestal, etc. I have all the gaskets- they are included. I just didn't get around to spending an afternoon getting greasy bolting them on.
- Front end wear. It needs tie rods, and perhaps a steering box. It wanders on the highway. It's not about to fall off, but it should be done for anyone that is gonna put any quantity of miles on it. I would be willing to drive it to CA, but I'd probably be ready to get it taken care of when I got back.

Hood, fender, grill, headlight, bumper, brushguard, and all related brackets. Headlight and panels on the right side are also misaligned- they need tweaking, but not replacement.
New panels on the left may not bolt up. Sub body is moved around (wheel well was pushed against the wheel).
Radiator was not touched. Engine was not touched. No fluid leaked.
Driver's door may or may not open once fender is replaced. It doesn't open now, but it's binding against the fender (which is 1/2" behind it).
Windshield is cracked. Airbag blown.
Most of the energy was absorbed by the brush guard and the other car.
I don't think this is a good candidate for fixing it "right". But a few junkyard panels and some shadetree bodywork (to get the door to open) would make it reasonably presentable. If it was me, I'd pull the damaged stuff off, sawzall the bent metal in the wheel well for clearance, add the panels I could, weld a bumper on (since the brackets won't fit), and do bad things to make the fender/ door "good enough". Then drive it.
If it wasn't clear, please note salvage title.
If you are serious, I can send more pics. They are more than I wanted to post.

...after I was done driving it, I'd sell the trans for what I paid for the truck, and keep the free 7.3L diesel.

How’s the interior?
Better than fair, but less than good.
It's that grey fabric that was so popular. A bit dirty and worn, but only 1 tear. Driver's seat has a 6" tear on the left hand edge and a worn cushion.
